Thank you Jeff Treganowan for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Evangelism (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am very comfortable talking about my Lord. I believe if you can show God’s love in your actions, then the conversation about my Lord is very easy to have.

#2 Gift, Teaching (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have taught many types of classes in the past. I have years of experience teaching, disaster classes for the Red Cross and FEMA. I have taught safety classes for the Red Cross. And I have taught bible studies and small groups for years. I am very comfortable speaking from the podium or in the classroom.

#3 Gift, Prophecy (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Honestly, I don’t know why this came up so strong. I believe that I am going to heaven and that anyone who accepts the Lord as his savior is going as well. But I don’t feel that I have any real knowledge in prophecy.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love teaching and participating in Bible studies and small groups.

2. I love writing, as I have just finished my first Christian/mystery novel.

3. I love to travel, there will always be a new place to go and see.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Age does not matter. I enjoy working with positive people who see and enjoy the love of Christ

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I hope for a good small group ministry. I would like to see small groups open for everyone and a schedule of what is available and have those classes change every quarter or semester. Much like a college campus.

*Mark the Top 3 from the list, that Trigger a Passion in You

Educational
Policy/politics
Other – I would like to see Christianity out of politics altogether. It is very hard to speak with a non-believer about my faith when so many Evangelical Christians support a man like Trump.

[A]bilities

My current vocation:

Own a health insurance company. We provide insurance options for Medicare-eligible clients only.

Other jobs I have experience in:

Optometric technician, Optician had own contact lens practice. Real estate salesman. And I have written one how-to book on New Home sales. And I have just finished my first Christian Novel.

Special talents/skills that I have:

I love teaching. And my current passion is for writing. I want to work to get the Christian faith out of politics. If Democrats and Republicans want to follow their leaders into the sewer, let them. I just don’t want to see the Christian faith dragged down into the sewer with them. My Lord’s teachings never deserve to be associated with a man like Trump!

I have taught a class or seminar on:

Several safety and disaster response classes. I have also taught small groups and bible studies for years. Susan and I have taught a class on communication skills. I have taught training classes on how to teach all of these classes as well.

I feel my most valuable personal asset is:

Teaching and speaking skills. And writing a good story about my faith.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was saved in a small group of young Christians called “His Young People”. It happened when I was nineteen.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Community Lutheran Chruch. Taught small group leaders and lead small groups.
Taught “Working with Humans and Surviving”. A course to improve communication skills.
Las Vegas, NV

Currently, Good News Methodist church. Serve communion, passing the collection plate. Teach and lead small groups and bible studies. Read scripture as needed and requested.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Speaking out against discrimination in the U.S. Air Force. It resulted in a young woman getting a job in the Air Force. I had the support of Congressman Barney Frank, and Senator Kennedy. There were also several TV and new appearances.

Making public the fact that the Air Force was using defective gas mask inserts in the first Gulf War. It resulted in the complete stop of using the mask insert and using another mask that worked against chemical weapons. I believe it saved many lives because Sadam Hussein had and used chemical weapons. It also involved press interviews including CNN.

My first book “The Ultimate new-home Buying Guide”. We toured the country teaching people how not to be taken advantage of by New-home builders. Books were selling and we were inundated with press coverage including Dateline NBC until 9/11 happened. Our life came to a screaching halt. We were devastated and it took a long time to get back on our feet. It was our Christian faith that pulled us through and made us that much stronger. We know that there is nothing in our life that we can’t go through now with the help of our Lord.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

The first would be the 9/11 experience. We were on top of the world one day and the next day no one wanted to talk to us. We went through depression and came out of it stronger because of our faith.

My father was very sick and dying in the hospital. My girlfriend suggested that I pray with him. I explained that my father was a life-long atheist and it would only upset him. I saw my father in intensive care and I didn’t have the guts to offer a prayer with him. The next day I went to see him in his room and he told me that a stranger came to him who was also in intensive care and felt lead to come and pray with him. My dad prayed with this stranger. I was shocked “I said Dad you never believed in Jesus!” He said, “I believe now!” My father died shortly after and I will always regret that it wasn’t me who prayed with him. But when I ever feel lead to pray or speak out now, I don’t hesitate.
