Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I grew up in a Christian home, faithfully attending church, and have had parents very involved in the church my whole life. But I never fully understood the gospel until Christmas Eve of my 8th grade year. I finally had clarity and an awe of what Christ did for me and I have never been the same since. That night, I decided to give my life fully for Christ since he gave his life for me. I decided to be a fully committed Christian because I wanted to and because I understood why, not because my parents are Christians.
Redeeming Grace Church in Fairfax, Virginia: after college from 2013-2017
Fairlawn Community Church in Williamsport, PA: during high school I was on the worship team from 2005-2009 and I lead worship as needed when I visit home
New Fellowship Baptist Church in Mercer, PA: during college from 2011-2013
Flood Church Lilongwe in Lilongwe, Malawi, Africa: 2017-2019
I have never had a titled “position” in a church. However, at each of these churches I have volunteered in one or more of the following positions: leading worship, youth worship, and children’s worship. I have also been a volunteer youth group co-leader of 8th-9th grade girls.
Camp Susque
Trout Run, PA
Camp Counselor in Training for one year. Camp counselor for 4 years. The fourth year I was head of the middle school counselors. I scheduled programs, planned programs, hikes, and games. I lead worship, I was a lifeguard, and I taught praise dance and nature classes.
Attending a Christian camp as a kid and growing in my understanding of Christ throughout summer camp and youth group experiences.
Having relationships with godly women and mentors in my life.
Being a Christian camp counselor and given leadership roles at a young age in worship leading and discipling.
Working for a mission organization in Malawi, Africa that has bad leadership has made it hard for me and the staff working here. I have learned that ministry is not easy and that Christian organizations are not perfect because they are run by flawed people.
High school was rough. I was the weird Christian girl who had only a few close friends. I reached out and witnessed to many unbelievers through those four years.
My first teaching position was in a public school in a very liberal area. I was not accepted by the other teachers in the science department. I was made fun of and laughed at because of who I was. Eventually, things changed and the staff realized I wouldn’t changed and they loved me for who I was by the time I left the school.
