S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Judy Belty for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I used to be a black and white person which made me a bit stubborn and direct about the faith. But God has changed my heart by His grace and I still want to speak truth but can do so with a heart to love. I care about people an want to see them live a life free of their “old self’ and walk in their new life with Christ.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am able to create, implement, and/or manage policies and procedures for most of the ministries and programs I have been involved with over the years.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love to come alongside others. I feel I do well one on one by listening first and talking less. I thrive when I have opportunities to mentor others. I don’t have anything to give without Christ. I want others to know that I was a very lost soul (even while in the church), but God has brought freedom to my life through the saving grace of Jesus. I want others to know Christ and learn to let the Holy Spirit lead their lives day to day.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to spend time in my hammock in the backyard. It’s where I take me day of Sabbath or my go to ace when I need refreshment.

2. I enjoy being with my close friends doing simple things like chatting over tea, hiking, a movie…just good fun girl time.

3. I like to be outdoors, running, hiking, being with my dog. It’s in these time I can think and pray.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I have always loves to work with youth and seemed to attract the troubled. I enjoyed “counseling ” with the rebel, maybe because I was so troubled growing up. I was filled up most when leading the kids that wanted more of God. Growing together with them was a gift. Today, I am beginning to do the same, but with women.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I want to see people be ignited with a passion for missions (local outreach and international). I also wan to see more offered for women to bring them to a deeper relationship with God.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
