S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Julie Sim for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am happy to serve behind the scenes in whatever ways are needed. I enjoy feeling useful, but I am not always good at taking initiative.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
While I do not feel that I always act upon my feelings, I am wired to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
While I am rather out of practice, God has given me a lot of past experience in teaching through backyard Bible clubs, AWANA, and Bible college. I was actually surprised this showed up as a “gift” though, because it is more of a comfortability than something in which I feel truly “gifted”.

1. Sharing life in a meaningful way with others (to truly know others and be known). Community.
2. Caring for my family. Cooking, encouraging, doctoring, etc…
3. Helping those who are sick—granted, it is my job. However, I view my work as an opportunity to help brighten the day of those not feeling well.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I was raised in a Christian home and prayed to receive Christ as my savior when I was 5 years old. I was very involved in church growing up and played an active role through college. After college I have not been as involved in the church and am really just now trying to get more connected and serve.
AWANA L.I.T. (leader in training)–Hill Country Bible Church (Austin, TX) 1997-2001
Visiting/adopting a grandparent to visit at a local retirement community (not an official ministry through any organization) 1998-2000
Leadership University (college internship working with the youth group during the summer ) HCBC (Austin, TX) summer 2002
Sunday school teacher (ages 3-5), Sandhills Community Church 2010-2011
AWANA leader (3-4th grade girls) Cornerstone 2016-2017
Sunday School helper (orange room) Cornerstone 2017-2018?
I was blessed to be a part of a very active youth group that was always challenging me in my walk with Christ and provided positive peer pressure to get involved in the community and share my faith.
Growing up in a faith-filled home where I felt safe and accepted for who I was, but was challenged to become more like Christ had a big impact on who I am today.
I went to Bible college where I was exposed to a lot of different ministries and missions organizations. I learned new ways to study and explore the Scripture.
I had an opportunity in high school to share my faith at my first job–direct question that would have been a simple enough answer, but I was afraid of getting in trouble with my manager who was listening—so I hedged and missed an opportunity.
I went through a very difficult year my sophomore year of high school when I quit competitive gymnastics and began attending a private school. I had a pretty significant identity crisis and felt very lonely and rejected by people who used to be my friends.
In my adult years, I have been struggling with being the frequent recipient of verbal and emotional abuse. While were are still working through a lot of things, I have a hard time feeling that I am capable of being used by the Lord anymore.
