S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kaitlin Atwood for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy helping others in any way I can because it’s something I’ve always grown up doing. I would be given chores as a kid but as I got older, I’d do them on my own and see how happy it would make my parents. In my teenage years, I see how it helps other people and I like seeing the effect.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I got into a lot of trouble for lying as a kid and my parents were always merciful so I was taught this as a young age. Now that I’m older I see how it helped me and I’m so grateful for my parents so I like to extend that same thing to other people.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I think I have this gift because I myself like receiving validation. It makes me feel better knowing I can encourage others the way that I want to be encouraged.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I’ve grown up in a Christian household so I’ve always had that segway, but my junior year of high school I really committed to Christianity because I realized how I always had God on the backburner and I didn’t like that. I wanted Him to be the center of my life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Colossae Hillsboro, Sunday school assistant, 5 years

Faith Bible IMPACT, Hillsboro Oregon, 3 years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Lockdown during Covid-19 helped me have a lot of time for self-reflection and it helped me grow to love myself and finally be comfortable with who I am.

My sister has started standing up for me against my parents. This made me feel validated.

Moving to Oregon helped me find a group of friends who genuinely care about me and find a best friend who I know I’ll be friends with forever.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My parents are great people but they always expect more from me so it often feels like I’m never enough and constantly need to be improving.

I got bullied a lot in school for being the only Asian. Kids would following me around pulling back their eyes and chanting mean songs at me.

My brother died when I was in seventh grade.
