This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have a deep compassion for others that includes their understanding of scripture as it applies to their sense of self and their relationship to God. I have studied the scripture for most of my life and experienced, reflected on, developmental stages of faith-growth. I have had amazing opportunities both in my vocation and in personal relationships to explore and discuss the meaning of scripture as it applies to others lives as well as my own life.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love others unconditionally and am called to “see” them as Jesus sees them. I am driven to look for Jesus in each person, to look for the good and discard/forgive the bad. I am committed to serving them in the Spirit of Christ, undeserved, unrecognized and resisted.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have had many opportunities to teach classes, bible studies, retreats and conferences in the past. I have used available resources as well as prepared my own lessons. My preference is to teach groups of twenty or less to allow for more interactive study.

Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

[E]xperience

The Holy Spirit was breathed into my life at birth. My parents brought me to baptism as a member of a Christ-following family. I cannot remember a time God was not present and active in my life and I expressed my faith in Him in the was I was developmentally able throughout my life. I confirmed my baptism by my own choice when I was 14. Even prior to that I made several declarations of faith according to the “Prayer of Salvation” according to the beliefs of camp counselors and adults of other Christian backgrounds. Throughout the various cognitive, moral and spiritual stages of life, I experienced many difficulties and rebelled against my parents but I always sensed God’s presence with me and His gentle guidance bringing me back to a deeper understanding of Him. In my life I have been wounded by others and I wounded others; I have been active and faithful in the body of Christ, learning more about God’s love and plan for me; I have served Him and I have shrunk from His call. The one thing I claim in the midst of it all is that I know that I know that I know God’s undying love for me. He promises to never leave me or forsake me. I rely on His promise more than me feeling or understanding.
