Thank you Kathy Myers for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I was 7 years old. Our church was having a revival. I couldn’t sleep at night for fear I would die before I woke and would go to Hell. I went forward and accepted Christ. That fear dissipated immediately.
Piano player in small churches. Limited playing because I play by ear. Hymns are the only thing I can do well. SC, GA, OH, PA
Sunday School teacher for lower grade levels, VBS teacher/helper, youth group leader alongside my husband in our 20’s. PA, GA, TN
Currently serving on the Board of Directors at Full Circle Medical Center for Women in Athens, TN
When my husband and I moved to Cedarvlle, OH for him to attend Cedarville University, I had to step out of my comfort zone and find a job. I was hired as the administrative assistant to the athletic director at the College; we were flat broke; however, the college had just passed a new policy…that if any spouse worked at the college, the spouse that was the student could go all four years tuition free! God’s hand was upon us. It taught me that He will aways provide.
I was very insecure as a young married adult. Two jobs shaped me and my confidence and self esteem boomed. One was at the University of SC Law School where I typed novels for law professors and proofread them. Later, we moved to Rome, GA and I was the administrative assistant for the chairman of the Humanities Division at Floyd College. He was blind. I learned so much from him. His attitude was always upbeat; he taught me more than I ever knew about English, grammar, literature, etc. Was the best job I ever had and it truly shaped me in so many ways.
Our first trip to Israel completely transformed my life. I have never been the same and even went back a second time. The Bible came alive, the culture made sense, walking where Jesus walked…wow. I can pinpoint that first trip to the point that started my in-depth bible studies on my own and delving deeper into knowing God intimately.
I lost my mother at the age of 13 and my father at the age of 29. I have longed for both of them and have been sad that they never knew my daughter and son. I grieve with others who have lost their parents at a young age. And even if a woman who is in her 30’s or 40’s and doesn’t have a good relationship with her mother, I seem to be able to encourage her and be her friend.
We have been married for 40 years. There were bumps along the way and one BIG bump about did us in but God was there for both of us and we knew that because we loved Jesus more that we had to work it out. God literally became my best friend through this time and when we finally arrived on the other side of “great” again, I was able to encourage others who were struggling in their marriage. It didn’t mean I had to divulge all that happened to us but it helped letting those in need know that ….hey–we aren’t perfect…this is what I can tell you and what God did for us during that time.
Our daughter went through some trying times in college. I was at my wit’s end. I begged God for answers, begged him to show her the way back to Him, and things just kept getting worse. Some of my closest spirit mentors just kept saying, one day, one day she will return to the fold. Don’t give up. Today she is married with a wonderful husband, a 4-yearold and one on the way. They are in a bible-believing church and are growing in the Word. I say to parents of teens and 20-somethings….don’t give up and with your kids living at home, stay firm, don’t give in and PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.
