S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Kayley Coggins for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m a teacher by trade and I love what I do. When having an objective or goal in mind, I like having the opportunity to watch those I’m teaching grow and come to understanding through their own inquiry.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I spent many years herding/shepherding tiny humans during church services. There were days that I never wanted to return and days where I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I still loved and deeply miss guiding them (see concerns below).

1. I love working with kids. Watching them grow and learn gives me fuel.
2. One on one relationships and quality time fills me up. Being able to meet with young women, married woman or teenagers and building relationships is really something that fills my cup.
3. I like the autonomy of being in charge of something and getting a job down. Completing tasks can give me a sense of pride.
I love working with kids of any age. 2-3 year olds to high school . I’ve enjoyed building those relationships and being a safe place in church.
I am so concerned of being burnt out ministry. I’ve kind of learned to say “no” when I need to but when I see a hole that needs to be filled, I will pour myself out when I really need to care for myself.
I’m also nervous that if I go back into children ministry adults will see me as a baby sitter and not as a peer in need of friendships with adults.
Some of my shape ranking were based out of reservations with those issues.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I grew up in a Christian house hold. My parents were active and Christianity felt free and not restrictive in our house hold. I was baptized at 7 years old. However, I don’t think I really understood God’s love for me until I was about 12 years old. My older sister and I DID NOT get along for the first 12 years or so. We were pretty nasty to each other and everyone knew it. When my sister came back from church camp one summer, I saw a change in her and how she treated me with so much love and patience. We also say that Jesus made us best friends and it’s true. She showed not only me but my friends His love. After that I started practicing love the way He loved her and she loved me. There are many many moments in life where I’ve been moved to deep action by God’s love for me.
The way my sister showed His love was really the beginning of me understanding my life as a Christian.
Redeemer Community church.- children’s Sunday school teacher and volunteer coordinator. 3 years total Avondale, AL
Canaan children’s community- Montrouis , Haiti. Missionary and teacher 1 year
Finding my love of education while working in ministry.
Friendships. There are many friendships that have helped shaped me and kindly redirect me.
Our youth group was special and we didn’t have youth pastor for 2 year. Bob Barnhart came along and led a bunch of unruly kids with so much joy and grace.
My mom getting cancer and walking through her treatment last year. It’s a club no one wants to be apart of.
Moving to birmingham in a relationship 5 years ago and having that end was painful. I have a lot of empathy for women going through the disappointment of a relationship ending or feeling lonely or even content in singleness.
Having a verbal and emotionally abusive boyfriend in high school. I really hope to share that story with young girls so that they can protect themselves.
