#1 Gift, Teaching (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy God’s word. I enjoy studying the very depths of its meaning and historical placement. I enjoy relating old testament with the new. I love showing other “hidden” truthes in the scripture. I enjoy bringing clarity to the time period, culture impact, and purpose of the scripture for better understanding.

#2 Gift, Serving (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love the joy and satisfaction it brings to make some else’s life a little easier to bare. I understand that sometimes it is in the small things that big hearts are changed.

#3 Gift, Administration (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love the thrill of a completed Excell spread sheet. I love the challenge of gathering data. I love to write, so typing letters brings joy and excitement. I am always looking for a reason to type up some type of research paper or what not. I am a nerd and God loves me.

Adults, women, or deaf

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Singles 35-50 age. We may not even be single again. Just have not had an opportunity to meet our spouse. Church is so family centered that as a single it is easy to feel like a third wheel. What does God have to say to the single person?

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Suicide attempt failed. Anger towards God only showed me that He loved me whether I felt it or not. He was never going to give up on me. It has taken a long time to deal with the anger, but I have discovered that my anger was because of a wrong perception of God. Learning who He is for my self has brought greater joy and aboundance of heart felt love.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Shoreline Christian Center where I started the deaf ministry, Bannockburn Baptist Church (vbs, deaf ministry, women’s ministry, youth ministry istry), Praise Tabernacle (deaf ministry, pastor’s in training ministry, elder assistant)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Having a hard time finally, was facing homelessness. Decided I couldn’t serve a Good that would let that happen. I told Amy Lewis and Kathy Spade I couldn’t help them anymore. They ministered to me week after week until I got back on my feet. They weren’t going to let me go. They treated me like a sister. They were right about a lot of things. They didn’t even know I was struggling. Taught me the importance of sharing your needs with others.

I absolutely love working in the deaf ministry. Ron and Doreen Howell have left a legacy with me and my sister. The best part of serving in the deaf ministry is I get to do it with my sister.

After hearing Vaughn Bradley’s testimony of overcoming cancer and a floor… There’s no turning back!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Felt like because I wasn’t married that I was a sinner and if I was a good Christian then someone would love me and marry me.

Lack of support from staff for the deaf. Competition between interpretors.

Feeling neglected by the church. I’m only worth attention when I am serving, but when I have a need I’m pushed to the side.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Author of commentaries for scripture, Christian novels, teacher of scripture to larger groups

4. Travel, missionary

5. Visit elderly in homes, card ministry like mamma used to do
