S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kelly Black for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:

#3 Gift, Giving (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Although I currently do not make a pay-check by working for myself or someone else, I am able to use the funding resources over which I I do have control with great management and wisdom. I constantly pray for guidance in this area, as I feel giving to God’s kingdom causes always helps us reap more profitably.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to connect with people in a personable & significant way.

2. I love to make improved change everywhere I go.

3. I love to serve the need of others (whether physical, spiritual or emotional). Part of this includes trying to solve mystery reasons for one’s poor physical/spiritual/emotional health (lifestyle options or unknown environmental factors/causes).

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with anyone who wants to effect healthy change in their world, regardless of their age. I work best with others who get decisions made and work to accomplish well-thought out goals. Driven-people, who encourage others to come work alongside them, are who I gravitate toward.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Concern- JHM & HSM (spiritual health of programs)
Needs- “Green our Environment” & create a recycling program (paper in offices; bottles/cans/glass in main bldg)
Issues- connecting with people on a personal level with meaningful spiritual depth

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian home, and at the age of 4 or 5, I asked Jesus into my heart, while sitting on my bed. Knowing He was my Lord and Savior and continuing to attend family Bible Study and church services weekly, I was baptized on Easter Sunday of my fifth grade year.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Eastside (Fullerton & Anaheim campuses)- mission trips to Mexico (too many day and/or week-long trips to count) & Chile (twice- total of five months); nursery worker; ensemble group in high school/college under Dana Morris performing musicals or patriotic reviews in the community

Serrano Hills Church in Tustin/Irvine area (1996-2008)- I ran the Children’s Ministry; led small-group adult and youth Bible studies in my home; conducted children’s musicals and summer VBS programs

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

my Aunt Suzie telling me one day I would speak in front of thousands of people (gave me vision)

My college educational difficulties and learning to be a Home-educator

Marriage & parenting

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Marriage & parenting

Dealing with specific health issues (low-back; thyroid nodules; EBV)

Financial struggles
