S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Melody Haselden for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love being a Mom and Grandmother. Doing things as a family and for my family. Being around them and listening to their stories and accomplishments. Game nights.

2. Listening to music and singing when alone. I am pretty sure I cannot carry a tune or play an instrument, but I love worshiping and oh such a place to connect with God.

3. Spending time outdoors, the beach, the mountains, rivers, lakes and meadows when I find them.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love helping elderly people when I can, but I also like helping young people when it possible.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Outreach to people among the church, seeking out ones who suddenly stop coming and knowing are they OK or did something happen to them or did they just decide to go somewhere else. I think this is something the church has stopped doing as a congregation, it has been left to the life groups. I also enjoy greeting people. Helping with Abused women and young women who are pregnant and alone. It excites me to see this church grow.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
