S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kerry for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have witness serving all my life- my Mother and Grandmother worked with sick babies- serving their families as much as the babies. I have been taught from a young age that it’s your duty to help those less fortunate than yourself

#2 Gift, Evangelism (50%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My Grandparents weren’t afraid to profess their faith in every action and every word and we are told to let our light shine, so I try to do that. I am not afraid to say that I believe in God, than he shapes everything I do- I just wish I could be an even better example in action than in word (I try, but I’m not always perfect).

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (46%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I don’t like to see people suffering- I know how bad it feels to have an issue and have nobody there to talk to, to tell you things will be alright, etc…so I like to do that for others. I’m not as good at it as I’d like to be, but I try.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in the church- I accepted God at a fairly young age. There was a time in college where I didn’t have a church family to belong to, but I still believed in God, still prayed, and still went to church when I was home and could attend my home church.
