S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kim Baugh for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Administration (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel I have this gift because I have an eye for detail. Maybe not so much in the creative way but I like to make sure rules are in place and followed and that everything is running smoothly to help everyone out.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This one surprised me. I love to share my testimony and the love of Jesus but I never really thought I was good at it. I guess there are times I share and witness and I do not even realize I am doing it. Maybe that is what the gift is, witnessing in a way that is not coming across that I am better than anyone else or that I have my life all together.

#3 Gift, Teaching (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love to teach others and I love to learn from other people. I think I have this gift because since I enjoy it so much I can ignite someone else’s passion for learning.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love spending time with my family. This completes me.

2. I love to read and study the Bible, along with journaling. Journaling helps me to understand and relate things to my life. This brings me peace.

3. I feel passionate about children and families that are in crisis. I want to help them and show them and teach them about Jesus and the love of Jesus.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with different groups of people, and I like working with different ages. I like the diversity it brings and it helps me learn more about people.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I am passionate about children’s ministry, from birth through high school. Kids need the foundation of Christ to withstand all of the things going on in the world. Something that concerns me is that our lead pastors do not serve in these areas. It would have such an impact on our church if they saw some of the pastors serving a Sunday in some of these areas, whether it is hospitality, nursery, preschool, elementary, middle or high school.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

When I was a teenager and struggling with life and I remember sitting in a church sermon and listening to the pastor and it was like he was talking right to me. I remember going to the alter that day and feeling like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.
I did slide in my young adult years but I always knew that God was always in control of me and my life. When I was going through some medical issues and I felt like my life was spiraling out of control God showed me many times that He was in control and he had me in his hands. I have never felt such peace before in my life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Early Childhood Director for almost one year.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My grandparents. Their faith was very strong and I witnessed them going to church and studying the Bible. This is where my foundation in church started.

Watching my dad and stepmom’s marriage. It was not a perfect marriage by any means but they always talked things out and made sure to have a united front. You never doubted their love.

Having a best friend who is still a friend to this day who always sees the best in situations and has a positive word to say. I try to find the good in situations , doesn’t happen all the time and when I start to go negative I try to think of how she would handle the situation.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My dad kidnapped me when I was 3 and took me to Spain for a year and a half after my parents divorce. I do not remember a lot of this but I have such a deep passion for families that are struggling in marriage and divorces.

Lots of verbal confrontation between parents. Sometimes I will not confront an issue if it is going to make someone uncomfortable or cause tension between us. When I do confront someone it is in a way that is not confrontational and I try to do it with their perspective in mind.

Hearing people talk about you it makes you feel like the lowest of the low. I am guilty of this at times and I hate that. I try to think before I speak and I try to remember how it made me feel to hear people talking.
