S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kris Lackey for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Telling people about Jesus is what I do – I watched and learned as both my parents did this and now I am able to do so especially with the children I teach and encourage each week.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I see needs is the lives of people and feel like I should do something to help them. If they have a need, whether I can visit them or help with food or gas money, I like to help when God prompts me. Also, sometimes people just need to be given a smile or to be noticed by someone and I enjoy being that person. Again, I watched as learned as my parents displayed this type of care. As a child, I went with my parents to nursing homes to visit the sick and lonely and we often invited those on the fringe into our home or gathering.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy speaking truth and light into people’s lives. Being able to get a smile out of someone is important and making people feel that they are loved and cared about is important. We spend so much time nitpicking or believing bad things about ourselves that I like to offer an alternative. I do it to make people smile and to help them remember that they are important and that they are loved. They were created by God for a plan and a purpose and reminding them of their worth is so important and doesn’t take much time at all. I so see it as a challenge to make a child a smile who rarely smiles or to get them to smile at me or say a word when normally they have a sad countenance or rarely speak. They are children of God and have such worth and importance and someone needs to help them discover that.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Watch my children grow and become the people God is planning for them to be. Spend time with them and with friends and family and just laugh and be joyful together.

2. Helping others and bringing encouraging words to uplift and brighten their day. I enjoy praying for others and lifting them before the Lord – even strangers I do not know, but just see them walking along the road or riding by my in their car.

3. Getting in the Word and reminding myself of God’s love and care for me. Talking to Him and letting Him know what is on my heart and mind. Learning more of His attributes and understanding His love on a deeper level.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Well kids obviously and most definitely elementary or middle school age.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Getting our people involved in ministry alongside of us is what concerns me the most. We seem to have a pocket of people who serve and we need to help people see the bigger picture and encourage and recommend that they join the body to serve God and those around us.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Raised in a Christian home and knew the Lord from a very young age. Around the age of 16 I realized I couldn’t get anywhere based on my parents faith and decided to make my faith my own. Growing ever since, of course with set backs and such, but seeking Him daily and trying to make Him a part even now in my smaller decisions – I tend to make those without consulting Him and am currently working on that area of my spiritual walk.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

First Friends

Salvation Army – Pittsburgh and Akron

Church camp director – PA
