S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Kristen Sohlberg for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been richly blessed by God and never want to take my privileges for granted. I desire to hold anything God has given me with open hands.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m bossy and can speak loudly. I also like to model the work I am expecting from others, so I can teach by doing. I like things to be organized and time NOT be wasted. So I can do something else.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I often see/hear complaining/complaints for the small number of things that go wrong instead of the incredibly huge number of things that go as planned every day. And in in the midst of things going as planned, many people go above and beyond on a regular basis. I like to acknowledge the extra effort and to let those people know that their effort did not go unnoticed. I like to be encouraged and I feel strongly that if I want something, probably others want it too.
[H]eart
1. Touching, squeezing, hugging, kissing my children and family. I like to be in their presence, hear their thoughts and their highs and lows, laugh with them, discuss with them, and play with them.
2. I love to entertain people in my home. I like to prepare for groups and parties and like to make people feel welcome. I like to share the space God has given me with others in a way that makes them happy.
3. I like to make things for others, such as cooked items and handmade items. I do some types of handwork and like to give it away. I like to take photos to document and record the joyous times of life.
I’m not sure I have an age or type of person I like to work with. I like to work with others who have a similar work ethic, and those who can challenge/teach me without making me feel dumb. I like to work with those who understand and acknowledge my work. I especially like to work with others who can laugh and laugh and laugh, and laugh at themselves. I love to laugh.
I want to lift up and encourage those unnoticed ones. Perhaps they are unsung heroes. Perhaps they slip between the cracks of different ministries. Perhaps they keep going and going and no one notices they are worn out.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
At a youth rally in high school, during a foot washing ceremony, I felt the Holy Spirit declare Himself to me. I was nurtured by Billy Graham materials that I mail ordered and my church youth group.
Lolo Community Church, Lolo, Montana, Sunday School teacher, VBS worker and leader, 20 years,
Valley Christian School, Missoula, Montana, Elementary teacher, 5 years
Missoula Alliance Church, Missoula, Montana, Stephen minister, coffee ministry, welcome team, MAC Garage, VBS.
Teaching at a christian school and being surrounded by Christians living out their faith every day.
Learning from Jeff Valentine and Gale Fister, both incredibly humble, learned men who were talented at sharing their faith in ways that made it seem living as a Christian possible.
The incredible support and love of my family in all circumstances.
Living through a divorce and coming out the other side a better Christian, mother, person, daughter, more humble, better understanding of my sinful nature, all due to the grace of God.
Learning to never say never: When I was getting divorced and asked my pastor “Which one of us “gets” the church?”, he said he had heard of families where the divorced parents sat at either end of the pew with their kids between them. I stated that would NEVER happen with me. Lo and behold, that is exactly what happened to me when my kids’ dad started coming to MY church. I have learned that God accomplishes the impossible on a regular basis.
The suicide of my brother. I had always thought that kind of thing didn’t happen in MY family. However, it clearly does and did. Another reason to never say never. I have the desire to openly discuss suicide so that others will see/hear that i am not ashamed of my brother for making a bad choice.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Teaching others to manage their finances and time in ways that honors God and allow them to take care of themselves.
4. Take time to cuddle babies
5. Have better margins in my life to be able to jump into the unexpected.
