S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kristi Adams for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Serving. I am typically a selfish person, but serving takes me away from myself and helps me focus on others.

2. Making others smile. Whether that means I embarrass myself or do something goofy, I want others to laugh and feel joy.

3. I love deep conversations. Like real meaningful conversations. I want to know a persons struggles, I want to share my struggles, and then I want to encourage and lift them up through scripture. I love meaningful conversations.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Teens. They judge me and I judge right back 😂 jk I love working with outgoing people. It makes me feel comfortable when they are outgoing. On the other hand, I’m really good at making the shy kids talk.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Growth. I love seeing our church grow. Also, missions. I love when our church cares about our brothers in sisters in need.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

After finding out about my parents divorce and my mom’s affair, I started living a partier’s lifestyle. I would drink and go to parties Thursday through Saturday and recover from my hangover on Sunday. I was invited to a college bible study during my sophomore year of college. I answered all the questions with the correct answers (the girls leading it thought I was a believer). I was living a double life. My life got so out of control that I almost attempted suicide. Thankfully, a friend saved me from my attempt. I was then invited to a Christian conference where I surrendered my life to Christ. It was during a song by Matt Papa called Open Hands. I felt the Lord embrace me at that moment. I got down on my knees and prayed for Jesus to come into my life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Maryland Community Church, Terre Haute IN, Small group leader, cgroup leader, welcome team, prayer team, mowing team, etc…. 5 years

Brownsvalley Christian Church 8 years. Brownsvalley IN. Served in the nursery and sang in the choir. (I was 10-18 years of age)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My failures. I was living a double life. I thought I had it all together. I was stubborn. My failures brought me to my lowest point, where all I could turn to was Jesus.

My youth pastor in high school. He invested in me and made me feel needed.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My suicidal thoughts.

My partying days

My desire to be loved and to get love however I could.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Go on a long mission trip. Like a 3-4 month trip

4. Adopt kids in need

5. take my high school small group on a mission trip and serve with them.
