Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with all ages! I enjoy the pure joy and wonder of working with children, I like helping young people find worth. I love helping parents learn how to handle tough times or remember to find joy. I love being with older people, we have so much to learn from our elders and I love being able to give back and love on these people.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I love making people feel welcome and safe to bring their children to church. I am thrilled to help people find their way back to church if they’ve been lost to it or discover church for the first time.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in a Christian home and made a profession of faith at a very young age. When I was alone in my room around 12 yrs old I knelt by my bed and asked Christ to be my Savior. When I was in college and met my now husband I was challenged to live my faith out and make it my own.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

In college I served on the bus ministry for about 3 years and in the children’s program for 2.

I served in the children’s ministry at Blue Ridge Baptist Temple which evolved to Crosspoint Baptist Church for about 20 years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I had people in my life, an aunt and uncle and my best friend’s dad who spent time with me and gave me experiences my family was not able to provide.

A couple in our lives (my husband and I) took us under their wing and showed us how to love each other well. I saw them live out their love for each other in a very real way, showing me how to love and respect each other and how to love my children through hard times.

I’ve had the privilege of helping connect families to much needed resources

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I grew up with an absent father. I saw my families torn apart by lies and deception. I’ve been careful to instill truth and respect in my children, and be respectful and truthful with them in return.

I grew up very poor, mostly out of negligence and horrible management of money. I saw what selfishness does to families.

My parents divorced when I was a teenager. I saw how unkind and unloving they were to each other and did not want that for my future relationship with my future family

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I’d love to run a ministry where I could provide a type of shelter that provides parenting classes, laundry services, showering facilities and help for people trying to apply for jobs

4. I want to be in ministry full time

5. I want to provide parenting classes to those who are trying to get their children back or are in recovery
