S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kent Satterfield for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I long to love others, protect those that are growing, and raise up the next generation of leaders.

#2 Gift, Teaching (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It is vital to provide a place where the body can come together and learn the truths of God. It is imperative that the body breaks free of the bonds of “tradition” and learn to live as the Lord intended, in unity and as children of God (overcomers, authority, bearing fruits of the spirit).

#3 Gift, Evangelism (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
The Lord pulled me out of the lowest miry clay. I MUST tell everyone I can about what God did for me! He died for me, so I tell about Him!

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Preaching/Teaching- I LOVE studying and discussing the many facets of God and His word! I love sharing my story and sharing what He can do in the lives of others.

2. Praise/Worship- I adore the opportunity to get lost in His presence through praise and worship. He has done so much for me in my life, I can never praise Him enough!

3. I love sports and working out- I LOVE Crossfit, working out, running, anything active!

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love ministering to any age group. I love to equip our youth to live fearless, bold, and relational lives based on the word of God.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I know you are aware of some of our weaknesses in the realm of ministries established. I do not want to hurt anyone, but build them up. With that being said, our Security team is in need of more levelheaded leadership. Our Nursery ministry is in dire need of leadership that will actively seek help on Wednesdays and the Sundays she doesn’t serve. Our Wednesday night Go Kids program needs a more stable, more mature leader.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My family was in and out of church until I was 13. I was severely bullied in middle school and had a difficult time at home. This left me hating everything and everyone. A couple of deaths in my family led to me shutting any emotion off. For many years I lived in a state of hate and misery. In August 2001 I moved back to Maryville from Winchester, KY. The terms of living with my parents was to pay back the money I owed them and to go to church. That morning, I began to pray (first time in years), I heard the creator of the universe say, “here I am, step out!” I fell into the aisle and crawled to the front. I could literally hear the chains and screams of hell pulling me back. But, I reached the front and collapsed. I prayed, “Lord, if this is all my life will be, KILL ME NOW!” “But, if you give me the strength to stand up, I will follow you and serve you as long as there is air in my lungs!” Here I am typing 17 yrs later!

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Youth Pastor- The Meadow (2.5 yrs)

Men’s Minister/Prison Minister- The Meadow (5 yrs)

Children’s Pastor -The Meadow (6 mos) transitional
Sunday School teacher- The Meadow (2 yrs)
Homeless Ministry- The Meadow (2 yrs+)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Shortly after I was saved, I was in my truck before work reading my Bible and praying. I told the Lord it would be awesome if He could use someone like me bc I was no good to anybody. That afternoon I encountered a lady in the graveyard weeping uncontrollably. I spoke with her for about 15 mins. I didn’t know what to say or do, but I said all I knew to say to comfort her. Six months later she called me and told me she had full intention of going home that day and killing herself. But, after meeting me, she knew God was real and she must press on! I am still amazed the Lord can use someone like me!

Meeting Jennifer and marrying my best friend. This journey with her by my side is nothing short of phenomenal! Going through the various ranks of Ordination together has been wonderful and exciting!

Being mentored by Pastor Reagan, Chris Reneau, and Sharon McKeehan. I have been so blessed to be taught and loved on by some of the most wonderful people!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Living in fear and anger through my younger years. My mother repeatedly told me how much she hated me and was beat with a fishing rod for years as a child. She never had a relationship with her mom, so our relationship suffered. (God healed this relationship a few years ago!)

When I was called to preach, a pastor refused to give me the time of day or any type of guidance. I trusted this man before this time.

Being betrayed by lifelong friends within the church. They accused me of taking money from our youth, started rumors in the church, tried to discredit me in the sight of the other parents. I learned that I must be very cautious and selective of who comes into out “inner circle”. Love all, but be cautious.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would love to be a full time minister so I could focus on reaching our schools and growing our youth group through FCA, visiting kids during lunch at school, and connecting with other Youth groups to win the youth in our town, state, world!

4. I would open a Crossfit gym that focuses on the spiritual, physical, and mental aspects of the body of Christ!

5. I would travel all over this world on mission trips!
