S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Katherine Bryant for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

All people

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Perhaps, more focus on moms who just had a child. We should prepare a meal, drop at their door, and text them that it is there. I remember feeling overwhelmed with a newborn and the thought of making a meal felt impossible, but good nutrition for new moms is so important. I also did not want to receive more company with a newborn because of scheduling, cleaning, dressing, sleeping, germs….etc, so I think that they will appreciate it if we just leave it at the door and text that it is there. Doorbells make dogs bark and wake babies… I know this from experience 🙂

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in the Methodist church.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Covenant United Methodist Church, Greer, SC, 6 years- Involved in my church youth group. Habitat for Humanity, Youth Choir, Conferences

Clemson Lutheran, Clemson, SC, 1 year- Involved in the campus ministries while in college. Habitat for Humanity

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My strong relationships with my brother and sister and parent has allowed me to practice what it means to love someone other than myself and care for others.

Having my daughter has softened my heart even more to where I always want to see the good in others even when they are having a bad moment towards me.

Getting married has made me practice compromise so that I do not get attached to the way I want things done.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Postpartum depression after my daughter’s birth.

Not getting into graduate school right after college was the first time my plan was not executed.

Having difficulty finding a job in Wilmington when we first moved here was a big setback for me professionally.
