S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Kyle Donker for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Man, I just love God’s word and bringing others into a clear understanding of it. It’s a joy to help people see the themes of scripture connect from beginning to end. I love bringing people into a fuller knowledge of God’s word!
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
People need to be saved. There are those who have gladly rebelled against God, those who have never heard about Jesus, those who THINK they are following God, and even those who think they are Christians. All of them are in need. All of them have a coming end. All of them will be eternally separated from God if someone doesn’t speak to them. Yes, God can save any whom He wills, but scripturally it’s clear that His prescribed method for believers for evangelism IS to speak! It’s a part of our identity as believers! We are ambassadors with the message “be reconciled to God!”
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
People are in need. They need to be made right with God. This even includes Christians, and particularly applies to fellow believers. Too often we, like the Galatians and like O.T. Jews, forget. We fail to remember our God. We fail to remember how He saved us. We forget we’re recipients of grace and we forget that the same grace that saves us is the same grace that sanctifies. Many believers are caught in one of two situations. They are prideful and believe they are living in such a manner that they are right with God BECAUSE of what they do. They need to be exhorted. Others believe that they are on the brink of receiving God’s wrath or losing their salvation BECAUSE of the works they do; they see the wickedness in their own hearts and are discouraged and quickly lose hope. They need to be encouraged.
[H]eart
1. Teach God’s word
2. Equip fellow believers into a God honoring, Biblical practice
3. Acting as a change agent to make things work more for God’s glory than anything else.

Apathy in the church toward nearly everything BUT community. It scares me how many desire little to do with knowing God’s word, sharing the gospel, sacrificing their rights, etc.

Spiritual laziness

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I was young, but it’s so clear to me. It was in 2nd grade in Mr. Saxbee’s Sunday School class. It was simple, but I heard the gospel and was asked if I wanted to received Christ in my life and I truly did and stepped forward. A lot of what I committed to there I didn’t fully understand, but I see how God has been faithful from that moment on (let’s be honest, even before that moment) in calling me, developing me, and making me more like Christ.

Summer 2010 – Mission Trip to New Orleans, LA. During that week I realized I was called to ministry full time.
Summer 2013 – San Diego Summer Mission (student staff role). This was the summer when I realized I was called to join staff with Cru
Mentor Advice –
Kade Stewart – “Find someone who’s in a place you want to be and is living a life glorifying to Christ, and ask him to take you under his wing.”
Cory Nederveld – “Where you serve in ministry should align with your convictions.”
Mark Olson – His general mentorship. He was, and is, so influential in my life. Be it boiling down our walk with God to gratitude and confession, to his upfront honesty and integrity in leading others. He truly is a man used by God to make much of His name.
Also:
Meeting Melissa. Dating her. Marrying her. And being more progressively known by her day by day. She helps me see myself more clearly and see Christ more clearly.
The birth of Caleb. He is so needy and so dependent and often demands much of me. But he’s also a baby who can’t do anything and who I cannot help but love oh so deeply. He helps me see my true state and how much God has given to me in spite of me. He too has profoundly shaped my life in such joyous manner.
My childhood church, Heritage Reformed Church, being closed down because of how unhealthy it was. This occurred during my Junior year of high school. It really affected how I approach church leadership and structure. It makes me want to care for my church leaders and hold them accountable for their own sake and for the sake of the “flock” they lead.
Long history, from middle school to halfway through college, with porn addiction and subsequent masturbation.
– Pain from Cottonwood elders in how they handled approaching me about me being baptized.
– Being talked down to about my skills or even how I approached someone during MPD.
– Wondering if God is worth following from 7th/8th-9th grade
– Having 3 people closing acquainted with me committing suicide in 3 week period
– Junior year of college chasing relationships as a source of satisfaction. Being turned down every time.
– Being low on MPD right when Caleb was born. Super stressful
