Thank you Lauren Kim for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Teaching (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was a part of a Bible Storying group where we read and discussed a bible story each week and then shared the story to someone before the next meeting. This method of learning the Bible gave me the confidence to share the gospel each week to my family/friends. I learned a lot about God’s many different characteristics through these Bible storying meetings and have developed a more personal relationship with Christ. I want to be able to share that with others so that they can have a personal relationship with God too.

#2 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was disciplined by an older sister in Christ last year and got to experience the fruits of discipleship. I want to also disciple to the younger sisters and be someone that helps and encourages them through life and in their walk with Christ.

#3 Gift, Prophecy (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am not sure how I have this gift…. or what it looks like/means entirely.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love building relationships with people on a spiritual level whether they are younger, older, or my age. I want to be an older sister to someone and a younger sister to someone. I want to be a friend for someone.

2. I love spending quality time with my family and creating unforgettable moments.

3. I love being around fellow followers of Christ (at church, retreats, worship) and worshipping and praising God with them.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with younger girls especially high school because I feel like I can mentor them and share my insights to them. I want to encourage and lift younger girls up, and point them towards Christ. I want to be an older sister to them.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Division within the body of Christ. Exclusion instead of inclusion. The focus is no longer on God but on man.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up going to church every Sunday ever since I can remember. During my sixth grade summer retreat, I experienced and witnessed many things from seeing people worship and praise without any reserve to hearing people speak in tongues to praying for hours to God and for others. I felt God’s powerful presence and witnessed what His love can do to us. I left my first youth retreat in amazement of God and wanting to know more. Then on my first mission trip, I went to the Dominican Republic and witnessed a church body like no other. The church we served was like family. Everyone knew everyone and took care of one another like their own. Through this mission trip, my understanding of the Church was redefined, and I was filled with love and joy to go back to my home church and create a body like that of DR. I had a strong desire to serve my youth group and be more involved. I joined praise team and made announcements on Sunday mornings even though I hated public speaking because I wasn’t doing this for myself and my reputation. I wanted to please God.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Binnerri Youth Group: Praise Team, Welcoming Team, Offering, Organizing/ decorating for events

VBS Leader for elementary, Bible Study Teacher for middle school (7th, 8th), Small group leader for middle school girls

Agape Christian Fellowship(ACF) @ William and Mary: Prayer Ministry

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I have developed a desire to reach out to those who feel left out. I feel passionate about inclusion and unity within the church body.

As a small group leader, I felt humbled and amazed by how God can use you for His kingdom even if you don’t know much about the Bible or feel incompetent in other areas.

Prayer Ministry and just being a part of ACF has stretched me read the Bible consistently and my prayer life has changed as well. I pray and read the Bible a lot more compared to when I entered college.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Feeling left out at church and the feeling of loneliness has lit a fire in me to reach out to those in the periphery.

Losing my best friend and having to cope and process the reality of no longer having this connection in my life made me doubt my worth and lowered my confidence. I had a lot of anger, bitterness, frustration in me towards that person. However, this experience has made me grow and learn about forgiveness and letting go of anger/ bitterness/ resentment. The very first sermon I heard from the Porch convicted me to seek forgiveness in my relationship. I still remember the pastor saying, “You can’t have a vertical relationship with God if your horizontal relationships are damaged/strained.”
