[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was always in church while growing up, however, it wasn’t until I went to summer camp at Moorlands that I truly was exposed to people with a deep relationship with God. During one of the morning sessions I was led to approach the altar and I gave my life to Christ there because I wanted to have the same kind of relationship others around me were having.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Moorlands Camp- Brought me closer to God and provided me with good lifelong friends with similar beliefs

Flight School- Allowed me to be independent for the first time and really figure things out on my own.

Going to UWI in Trinidad- During my time there I was able to experience a variety of cultures and religions and was able to see that we may not be so different after all.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Losing my job at the airport- I am now able to understand the struggles of the local job market and the difficulties some people must be facing even before the pandemic

Depression- Before I used to counsel my friends who were dealing with rough situations and I wondered why it was so difficult for them to pull themselves together. Now, having experienced it firsthand, I am able to relate; but even better I can now testify how the love of Christ helped me to love myself again.
