Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in a Christian home, was taken to church regularly. At the age of 9, I felt the Lord tugging at my heart. I realized that I was a sinner, and needed Him as my Savior. I talked to my mom after class one Sunday night, and explained to her what I was feeling. I answered the alter call, and asked Jesus to be my Savior.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Raised in the church, I attended both Richland and N. Richland Hills Baptist until I moved away from home as a young adult. I was actively involved in SS, GAs, children and youth choirs, went on choir tour, to youth camps, etc.

After some time away from church, I returned as a young adult and sang in the adult choir for many years. I taught babies (9 month olds) at Lake Arlington BC in
Arlington, TX. I went to youth camp as a sponsor.

After moving to Burleson, I joined Oak Grove BC in 1986. I continued singing with the choir. I taught Mission Friends for 12 years, children’s SS for another 12-13(?) years, and have filled in on occasion in my adult ladies class. I have served on various committees (Fellowship, Stewardship, Committee on Committees, Repurpose, etc.), and serve as the church Treasurer. I have helped with the Women’s Ministry, and have been on numerous mission trips. I have contributed financially in various areas from children’s ministry, youth, missions, scholarships, etc.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

After straying from the Lord, and church, as a young adult, a good friend and roommate of my future husband invited me to attend the church where he attended.

I took part in a Bible study class on Experiencing God led by a former OG music minister. This was a pivotal time, and I attended many more (mostly women’s) Bible studies and conferences after that.

Listening to God’s leading, I served as church secretary at OG for 12 1/2 years. (12 seems to be a big number for me?) This time was a blessing as well as a growing experience in my life.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

slipping away from God as a young adult

having a daughter who served as a missionary to China (not so much a “negative” thing, but definitely a teaching moment)

taking care of an aging father and going through the death of my mother, father, and younger brother
