S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Ling Gao Partain for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel like I have this gift because I was deeply healed and encouraged by God. I am so passionate to expand his kingdom because I want others to know him, so that they can be healed and saved. Not just in this life in the world, but also their eternal life. For example, whenever I see people that are suffering, if they are not Christians, I will want to talk about myself and share stories about how God saved and healed me–to give them hope that things don’t have to be so hard. When you know God and the Bible, truly, you are able to live freely. You have a choice to live a joyful and peaceful life.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am a sinful person, but God spares all my sins and loves me unconditionally. Everything He does is for my benefit and for my sake. I want to encourage people and love them the way that God loves me. For example, everyone (Christians and non-Christians alike) is going through something–and sometimes people forget what God has done for them or what the Bible teaches them–and they just need some reminder that God loves them and that we love them–and if they need some help, just try to ask and we will be there with them.

#3 Gift, Teaching (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
After doing devotions for a long time, I understand myself better. God gave me the gift of wanting to share my stories and the lessons/knowledge I have learned from my lifetime. I enjoy this gift and talking to others. I am really happy that my stories could help and lift them up, or to comfort them, and help them to see hope. For example, I have been talking to many people individually and we study books and the Bible together to teach and guide them to God’s word and to help them get out of their state of suffering and move to a more joyful and happy stage.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I moved to Memphis from China in 2015. I came here to marry my husband. But after I was here I became depressed because everything was so different. The language, the people, the culture–all different. I felt like I didn’t have any friends or family around or like I could even go out. I felt so alone. I felt like I was in Hell. Even though my husband is a great man and so loving, supporting, and patience, there still felt like there was a hole in my soul that he couldn’t fix. When I was so depressed, there was a Chinese girl who came and showed me that I could have friends here, family here, and that I could be apart of the culture. She even brought me food! She showed me love and spent her time with me–and she did this all because she was a Christian. At the time, it was really hard for me to believe that someone would do this all for free. Then I went to church with her and became a Christian because I wanted to become a person like her. Someone who was so loving, unconditionally. My husband and I got baptized in 2018 at Hope Church.
