Hmmm… bit surprised by this one… but it makes sense to me in my previous role as Large group Teacher for Kids Kreek.

I am a planner. I am a list maker. I don’t mind if others delegate to me. Because I am an introvert…and especially if I have had lots of interaction with people due to my profession, I like solitary assignments that allow me to concentrate quietly.

1. I am trying to get back to what I have loved in the past. I like to be innovative, think though an idea, wonder about the “what ifs”, draft a plan, read what others have to say, hear what others think about a given idea.

2. Teaching – I enjoy teaching but I have a love/hate relationship with it. It exhausts me.

3. I like to hear people’s stories. I love to hear their experiences, their twists and turns in life. I like to look for God’s hand in the life of others even when they can not see it.

[E]xperience

I became a Christian as a child but began a real faith walk at age 17 while a senior in high school. I became serious about seeking God’s purpose for my life. My youth pastor and youth sponsors were influential in my development through Sunday School and other Youth events. It led me to attend Eastern Mennonite for a year and then on to IWU. Having established a relationship with Jesus, for two years was significant because it did give me a foundation that I would need. But not all of my choices were perfect. After becoming pregnant 18, I wanted to take the “easy way out” and get an abortion and hide what I had done. But once you know God’s Truth you know it and can not deny it. I have a clear memory of when God spoke to my heart. I was trying to negotiate with Him and said, “after tomorrow, I will be all yours and do anything you want.” I remember God speaking to my heart, “If you are mine, then it starts now.” I know what it feels like to sit in the lap of the Lord God. That night in Bowman Hall , I knew that I was going to be obedient. Since that time, I have really know what is to be attune to the Holy Spirit working in my life. I know when He is speaking.

Growing up in a Christian Home

Single Teen Mom, allowing may parents to care for my daughter for three years while I finished college. Knowing I would have that responsibility, motivated me to spend my time in college well and become the best teacher I could become. I knew that it was not guaranteed that Chuck and I would work out. So I planned for the worst and hoped for the best.

Knowing what it is to want to walk away from your faith and live a secular life. I spent six months not wanting to be in church, six months of not going to church, and then spent a year letting God chase after me even when I just wanted to “play like I believed”
