S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Adam for taking the SHAPE Assessment. #3 Gift, Teaching (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
There is so much I could teach from my experiences. Most who know me would easily say I’ve experienced and been through enough enough for 4-5 lifetimes… and probably should have died just as many. But I’m still here all by Gods Grace! I believe there is a bigger vision and purpose for me. That has yet to reveal itself.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Helping someone unexpectedly. If I have the capacity to do so. And to do it and walk away. I pray in doing so …while staying anonymous…people see there is good in others hearts so they don’t lose hope.

2. Taking my children on adventures outdoors. God has made such a beautiful world if we would just take the time to appreciate it, and be thankful for it.

3. Encouraging people when you can see they are down, or maybe going down a road that you already know where it will end, and while you may not be able to change their path ….to be the one that said it. They often come back and open themselves more to listening to others.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Not really an age or a type of people. We are all people all born with the same flaws and sin nature. One type of person is just as likely or able to commit sin as the next type. It always boils down to individual condition and conviction of the individual persons heart.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

To be determined. Not qualified to make any statements at this time.

*Mark the Top 3 from the list, that Trigger a Passion in You

Other – I can’t check all the boxes, and this to me is a loaded question. We are usually most passionate about the things we have experienced and would like to help others with mainly due to the need to the need to help others and ourselves not repeat the mistake and grow from the experiences. I could actually check every box!

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Didn’t have the best childhood when I was young… but God sent a man that helped changed the direction of family life. My grandmother and mother were always God fearing women who devoted their lives to Jesus. And one point God finally spoke to me and basically told me I was his and would always be his! It was so overwhelming I just knew. I’ve always known!!! But life took me another direction for a long season because I turned my back on him and the church. From the time I was old enough to read my mother has always served on the staff of every church we ever attended including here at midway for a decade. My story and history is a book or novel to be written and much too long type here!! But I Thank God for saving me when I was a child. My plan is stay his child from now on!

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Part time Staff here at midway as a teenager.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Missions trip to Quatamala

My Father David Bauer

Jimmy Carroll as my youth pastor

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My biological father beating my mother when I was a child

Losing my ability to go to college and serve in our military because of the things I allowed myself to become involved in.

Meeting my biological father again 20 years later only to catch him trading kilos of cocaine for guns ….and death of my best friends brother …that at the time I knew I had played a part in. I enabled him to go down the wrong path in life. I planted the seed.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To just become the person I know I was meant to be. God saved me for! And to find my voice again!
