Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Mother took me to church; led me to Christ

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Director of Music-Greenwich, 2006-present

Trinity Church-Organist, then Organist/Director of Music-8+ years

St. Paul’s On-the Hill-Organist/Director of Music-12+ years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I attending ORU, in Tulsa, OK. All students were required to attend chapel services twice per week. When I was at ORU, the Chapel housed a mammoth pipe organ that was amazing. I had never seen or heard anything like it! The organist, and my organ teacher, was one of the most gifted musicians I have ever met. The spiritual and musical experience changed the direction of my life completely. My organ teacher had studied with the most gifted organ teacher of that era.

Several music degrees from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. I studied with, and befriended, magnificent piano, organ, and voice teachers. My conducting teacher was VERY, very demanding and studied with Nadia Boulanger. My piano teacher was from Russia, was very firm and had studied with Horowitz. During one of my last piano lessons, my piano teacher (who was usually quite stern and demanding) asked me to keep playing and playing because it sounded so wonderful.

Studied conducting with James Jordan at Westminster Choir College. At the end of a group lesson, he asked me to change three things. I re-conducted the piece, and he replied with the following: “stunning!”

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Be able to work at church full-time. Have a music ministry with which the Lord’s perfect will is accomplished and with which He is well pleased. Have an anointed music ministry that includes the following: 1) A sanctuary choir that overflows the sanctuary and choir room and the choir is filled with reliable, kind-hearted, gifted singers who want to proclaim the good news in song and who will regularly sacrifice of their time, energy and talent; 2) an orchestra that plays several times per month; 3) vocal choirs and hand bell choirs for children and youth of all ages; 3) a drama ministry; 4) a liturgical dance ministry; 5) a concert series.

4. Lead music teams to minister to orphanges in Russia (or other places as the Lord directs).

5. Obtain a doctoral degree that will give me a greater biblical understanding of worship.
