[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Well of course I was raised as Christian. I grew up in a traditional National Baptist Denomination. However, I was taught more about religion than relationship with God. At the age of twenty-one I was headed down a wrong path in life and was around bad influences and after encountering some unprecedented events I started seeking the Lord and developed my relationship with God from there. I would say that for a while I was focusing more on God from a religious sense, however, I am now focusing on maintaining a relationship with Him.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

2008- 2015 Ellis Grove Baptist Church- Children’s Ministry/ Primary Sunday School Teacher.

2016-2019 Antioch Baptist Church- Mass Choir and Children Ministry

2019-2020 Bellevue Baptist Church- Infant Nursery Teacher

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I remember the superintendent of Sunday School recruiting me to become a Sunday School teacher for the Primary Department and there I realized my gift and calling to teach.

I also remember my 12th grade English teacher persuading me to become a teacher, because she saw the gift of teaching in me before I realized I had a gift or skill to teach.

Being raised around a community of believers in Christ who have empowered me to be the person I am today. I am truly grateful for those people who sown into my life.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Watching my mother go through physical and mental illness ever since the age of seven.

Being in abusive relationships with family, acquaintances, and significant others.

Having an absentee father.
