#1 Gift, Evangelism (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I Love Jesus and I believe there is a heaven and a hell and i would rather do my best to save anyone from that judgement ands eternal hell, though i know i can only plant seeds that God makes grow, but i also struggle sometimes to know God is in control.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I still remember one of the first people that came up to me after my 2nd or 3rd church service and kept making me feel welcome, i feel we should all feel welcomed at church whether its our 1st time or 99th time, but thats just one example. However i pastor recently asked me to step back from that ministry of welcoming because maybe it would encourage others to step up more, as it can get draining mentally when you already feel so tired and busy from life.

As well i just enjoy seeing people happy, without being prideful, i would class myself as a peacemaker, however i know the bible says in Romans 12 that we should make every effort to keep the peace and I am sure some ex girlfriends would disagree with me there, but we all have those people in our life i am sure. However Christian friends at work always encourage me and rebuke me that i cant save the world, and yeah they are right and thats hard to hear sometimes, because i want to love everyone.

#3 Gift, Teaching (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Kinda shocked about the teaching one, I have preached before but never been real good at writing the sermons, procrastination is a killer for me, as well as putting the piece of the puzzle together. I love preaching to people, whether one on one or a more of a discipleship based ministry where i am going through the bible with 2-3 young guys. Though i currently lead a beach mission with one of my pastors and his wife and i enjoy being the one that looks out for people to build them up and encourage them as best i can.

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Find the right girl and feel at peace with that, i am currently in a relationship right now, it shes wonderful, solid Christian girl, beautiful inside and out, my one and only struggle is that the conversation is quiet a lot and i am an extrovert/very active and busy and she is not, but she is wonderful in every other way, just feeling at peace with it all would bring joy and fullfillment to my life. but for me, i am an overthinker and i doubt, stress and my joy and fullfillment drops, i feel like i didnt answer this question.

2. Having the time to meet with people I love and cherish, either to encourage them or they encourage me.

3. Go to the movies.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People of similar age of course and perhaps the ppl you have known the longest and would consider true friends because of how much time and energy they give you, however i did have people disciple me once upon a time and you just get along with them because they are already super nice respecting people.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Evangelism for sure, welcoming ministry, practical pastoral care: mowing lawns, moving furniture, providing meals for the people that need it or going through a hard time.

*Mark the Top 3 from the list, that Trigger a Passion in You

Marriage/family issues

Health/fitness

[A]bilities

My current vocation:

Guessing this means employment: Facilities Manager at a primary school

Other jobs I have experience in:

Gardening skills, cold conversations over the phone, warehouse, working with people.

Special talents/skills that I have:

I feel i am good at awkward conversations, though i had one like a year and a half ago and that was hard, it was a church welcoming experience but probably always good to have them and i probably dont love the awkward convo’s with ex girlfriends. But i can usually have a chat with anyone on the side of the road, though sometimes not too, it doesnt feel like pride, but it feels like people give me energy to want to talk to random people in front of them, its a strange feeling and it could still be pride.

I have taught a class or seminar on:

I have preached before on Revelation, one of those letters.

I feel my most valuable personal asset is:

I want to say my bible, its the right answer right? But i also feel very attached to my phone too because its a device with endless possibilities like reading your bible, haha

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

BRIEF? Haha Nah thats alright, I say i became a Christian at 19 but gave more of a stronger commitment at 25. At 19, I was discipled by a guy at our church (CCBC in campbelltown), we basically read the book of Luke together which was great, i still remember the first time he prayed for me in a carparking lot about some family stuff going on and i was nervous because people were watching us and stuff but seeing his faith in God always and still does encourage me. Anyhow my mum was part of my story too because basically before i met with matt i experienced a lot of past guilt and shame from stuff i did in the past, and i remember fighting with one of my sisters one day and went into my room and slammed the door and my mum came in and I explained to her all that i was feeling, all my guilt and shame of past mistakes (sin), anyways she prayed for me, explained the gospel to me and told me i would be forgiven because what jesus did if i asked for it, anyways i believe i did ask for it then but didnt make a real commitment til later on when i started meeting with Matt (the guy who discipled me), thats when i made a more stronger commitment to start calling myself a believer of Jesus Christ and his death and resurrection so that i can be forgiven.

But at 25 I went to Myanmar on a short term mission trip and really made a way stronger commitment when i got back because i experienced the way they loved God and the importance of telling people the gospel, the life and death of it all. i watched like 30 women bow down to a gold statue and yeah, just the way my brothers and sisters in Christ overseas loved God and proclaimed him in there persecuted country made me realise and desire the want and need to do that more in this country, which when i got back, lead me to a desire for more training and so i attended SMBC 3-4 years ago now and got some great teaching there, which has both benefitted my Christian walk and given me more practical skills.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Campbelltown Baps: Youth Group, Discipled some Guys: not super well, but was awesome to do life with them and I am all about planting seeds for God to grow. Young Adults ministry, some preaching, bible study leading, evening service committee: organising welcoming roster etc. Recruiting people to help out with pastoral care and more stuff like that, have made a lot of good networks at Ctown Baps.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

SMBC Training and an experience that left me with guilt and shame, it was to do with a girl, i didnt have sex or anything like that, but just a really hard experience that helped me understand Gods grace and mercy more.

Two friends of mine: Linda and Gary, solid american Christian people, had a lot to do with encouraging me to grow, supporting me at college and just a great Godly marriage that i could hopefully have one day (Lord Willing). They’re back in the states now, but still have contact with them from time to time.

My parents always supporting and helping me, sometimes financially, and other times spiritually. I know a lot of people out there would have bad growing up experiences and negative ones which means they have negative ones, but although my parents arnt perfect, they did give me a good upbringing, not perfect for sure, cause i feel like i got my anxiety from my mum, but sometimes my worrying can be a curse but also a blessing.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I guess i named one in the above, about the ex girlfriend that i experienced guilt and shame and a lot of negative hate and a friend at college who just kept on reminding me of the grace of God, because i guess i always thought i was a perfect person and that i couldnt make large mistakes (like sin is sin, but its super easy to say that murder is higher than downloading a song illegally) but i know and believe that all sin is the same, and we repent of sin as sin, if that makes sense. But i certainly believed that i was a solid good Christian who wouldnt fall into temptation etc and i did and i experienced guilt and shame for a whole year but experiencing that Grace was amazing.

I feel anything awkward that has ever happened to me, like going to the doctors and getting stuff checked out or literally walking up to an absolute stranger on college mission to talk to them about Jesus, just strengthens my confidence of things overall, maybe tooooo much info there, but i definitely dont want to be a hermit for Christ, so any awkward experience can definitely strenghten my ability to proclaim Christ.

A friend of mine committed suicide about 2-3 years ago, he wasnt the closest of friends but he came to beach mission and definitely one of those lonely outsiders and yeah i would follow him up all the time and see how he was doing and yeah he still went ahead and committed the act of suicide, it was very hard for some of his closest friends who still feel the guilt of it today but it has given me/some of us are greater sense of CARE towards those outsider people and towards friends i know who have thought about that, not that the story if Isaac is like a blessing that it happened but he had a great mental illness and i do believe he’s in heaven but thats only for God to know obviously, but it has given us all a great sense of compassion and helps me look out for those lonely outsiders.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Definitely to go back on a mission trip, maybe with my partner if all works out.

4. To train people how to welcome at church and train people how to evangelise.

5. Do one thing a week that i find enjoyment in (for me) as well as just leave work on time, get fit.
