S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Mary McFarland for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Coordinating and planning has been a passion of mine since I was a kid, that’s why I became an event planner. I love working with a team to see all the pieces come together to create an experience for people.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I don’t mind leading, but if I see a good leader I thoroughly enjoy serving them and helping in any way that’s needed. If they’re doing good things I want to help them do good things, and I know in the process I’m going to be able to help people as well because no one person can do it all, and by serving a good leader I’m also able to learn a lot by being in that position. It helps me grow and it helps others so it’s a win win. Serving is also a great way to be part of a team and getting things done with a great team is a lot more fun than doing things solo.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was a little surprised at this one simply because I don’t like to go around teaching people things or correcting people because I don’t want to come across as a know it all. I love to learn new things myself, and I’m always down to help others grow and learn, especially if it’s a topic I’m familiar in.

1. Event planning – yes it’s what I do for my “job” but it’s also something I love. I love planning things and seeing all the pieces come together, and watching whoever the event is for enjoy what’s been put together.
2. Being outside – I love hiking, running 5ks, camping, riding bikes, four wheelers, dinners or lunches outside, you name it. It helps relieve stress, and it’s always fun to go on an adventure to see what you find.
3. Spending time with my family – My family means the world to me. We’re huge on games (dominoes, cards, board games, washers/corn hole, etc.) so it’s always fun when we can get together and play games and just hang out.
I love to work with creatives, people who have a vision and also like to work together for a common goal. It’s always great when people have different talents and strengths and we can all use what we have to create something amazing. As far as who I gravitate to for serving, I enjoy spending time with the elderly community.
I feel like there is a demographic of women who are Christian, but strayed away from God in high school or college, made some big choices that they may regret, then have issues coming back to God because of shame. Some of these things are personal, so you never know who’s gone through what, but I visited a church once and saw they had anti-abortion shirts for sale in their merch store, and my heart immediately sank because I knew any woman who’s made choices like that trying to get back to God will never feel welcome or accepted if that’s their first time going to church in a while and they choose a church like that to go to not knowing what to expect.
One I get excited about is when churches plan big events like conferences, revivals, or VBS because I love getting involved in the planning, but it’s also awesome to see the impact an event like that can have on a community and bringing new people into the church.
Other – Creating experiences for others, women’s issues in the workplace, getting out of the rat race
[A]bilities
I’m a contracted Event Planner. I work for myself and get hired on a contract basis by different companies to help plan and execute their events.
I’ve always been an event planner to some capacity. From pre-planning, onsite execution, and post-event wrap up, I’ve coordinated conferences, trade shows, retreats, concerts/ticketed shows, marketing events, experiential marketing, brand parties, you name it and I’ve probably done it. I was also an event planner at a high end retirement community and that was a ton of fun. Some of the companies I’ve coordinated events for are Carnival Cruise Line, Lincoln Motors, Delta Airlines, several cybersecurity firms, and other small companies most people haven’t heard of. Depending on what team I’m working with my roles and responsibilities change, but full service event coordination has been my passion since I was a kid.
I also do photography and graphic design. I also have a side business making custom playing cards. I’ve made them for small businesses, Taylor Swift fans, companies that need custom swag, etc. One thing that’s different about my cards vs. other companies is I offer front and back customization, not just the back of the cards. Would be awesome to make some Stonewater decks!
I’ve taught event planning classes for upcoming or new event planners. I also have hosted monthly round Robin sessions where new planners can come to me and get advice and ask specific questions to what they have going on currently.
Predicting potential problems so I can have solutions ready in case something happens, and being able to see all the small details that need to go into making a big picture.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
I grew up in church and got saved when I was 12 at VBS. My dad is a deacon at that church and he’s the one who baptized me which is something that’s really special to me.
FBC Kopperl, Kopperl, TX – Duration: All my life until I graduated college. I helped with decorating, scheduling, and organizing VBS with pre-planning, event execution, and post-event breakdown. I also helped with smaller events throughout the year, church work days, and I also worked the media booth for several years doing audio and projection.
Cross Camp in Arkansas: I was a family group leader and also participated in pre planning for games, overall scheduling, fundraisers for kids to pay their registration, etc.
This was an actual job that I had in 2021, but for a while I was the road manager for Christian comedian Michael Jr. and did a wide range of event planning tasks. We traveled nationwide for events and shows and my responsibilities included pre-planning stuff like booking flights for the road team, on the ground transportation, booking hotels for the road team, training and recruiting volunteers for merch, ticketing, security, etc. at the venue, ordering merch and sending it to venues, and making sure the venue and road team were all on the same page before traveling. Onsite I was in charge of making sure things ran smoothly and everyone was where they were supposed to be. I helped the merch team setup tables and taught them how to use the payment systems, walked with security and went over protocols, talked with the ticketing volunteers and showed them how to use the payment systems, managed onsite drivers, and made sure all of Michael’s stuff was as he needed it and was his right hand at venues, including monitoring the autograph lines. Post event I was in charge of sales reports, post-event surveys, getting any leftover merch back to our warehouses, and doing any other event wrap up with payments or invoicing. I also helped run logistics for his podcast recording sessions and webinars for his book. I also ran his social media accounts and was on a small team that worked on growing his follower count and engagement.
As a whole, my dad has had a huge positive impact on my life. He’s been a great leader for my family and I can’t even imagine where my life would be without him. He’s stood by my side through it all, pushed me to try new things, gone on adventures with me, put me through college, supported my dreams, gives great advice, always pushes me to learn, and does a great job of giving perspective and reminding you of what’s important in life.
Going to college had a positive impact on my life. I grew up in a small town and graduated with 18 in my class, and you would see the same people at school graduate or drop out and never leave or do anything with their life. It’s all I knew, but I was determined to never be part of that cycle. Going to college in Denton allowed me to learn so much about the world and myself, gain independence, and meet people that I love so much and can’t imagine my life without.
I spent a lot of time traveling solo around 2020. I love learning and exploring, and getting to see other cities and cultures was a great experience. I still travel a few times a year, but that year in particular I feel like I was always on a plane going somewhere. Growing up in a small town so many people would make negative comments about different states or cities without ever having gone there themselves, and it just opened my eyes to the fact that so many people have opinions on things they have no knowledge of, so it’s good to find things out for yourself.
In late 2021 I had to have emergency surgery. I was in pain for a while and doctors kept telling me I was fine and they didn’t see any issues. I was finally in enough pain for a nurse to actually check me out thoroughly and that same night I went into emergency surgery to have one of my fallopian tubes removed. I didn’t even know I had severe endometriosis and my fallopian tube was rupturing. When I got out of surgery the doctors told me I was about 2-4 hours away from dying; and they also let me know my endometriosis was really bad and the likelihood of me ever having a safe pregnancy was rare. I’ve never been huge on having kids, but knowing that I don’t even really have the option doesn’t sit well with me, and I feel for other women who are going through health problems that prevent them from having kids. It also was a huge eye opener for me to come that close to dying because being younger you always think you have time, but you just never know what’s going to happen.
I’ve had several issues in the past with sexual harassment in the workplace, and it’s always ended with the blame being on me. Some places I absolutely loved working at, and others it was just a job, but it still broke my heart every time to not be believed, get fired, and then have to deal with the emotions of being violated, being blamed for it, being fired, and have to figure out what’s next for you at the same time. It’s still hard to talk about to this day, but it’s helped me stand up for others that are in similar situations so they get the justice they deserve and are protected from any negative repercussions.
