S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Marsha K. Griffin for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Teaching (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have always been a teacher, in secular and biblical settings, and there is nothing I enjoy more. God speaks to me as I prepare lessons, and He speaks through me as I deliver the truth of His Word. I love studying the Word and uncovering its treasures. I find the Bible to be a supernatural source of wisdom and truth.

#2 Gift, Prophecy (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe I have the New Testament gift of prophecy. God speaks to me about people and situations. He gives me insight into the spiritual workings of people and their motives. This Discerning of Spirits and prophecy work hand-in-hand. I rarely speak in church gatherings, but more often in small groups after prayer or Bible study. People are often encouraged by the words God gives me.

#3 Gift, Administration (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My secular vocations have always included administration along with teaching. The gift of administration/leadership is something I have enjoyed most of my life, before I knew that it was from God. I like order, and I like putting things in order. I like getting things done. I like developing teams and reaching goals together.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Study the Word of God, and the fellowship with Him that follows it.

2. Teaching the Word of God, and the inspiration that comes through it.

3. Building works for God, such as schools, developing curriculum, training teachers, seeing it all come together for His glory.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Anyone who shares my vision, or has a vision that I can get on board with, is someone I can work with. Age and ability doesn’t matter. Shared vision is the main thing.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Training of Pastors and ministers
Exposing young people to missions work
Teaching the children the Word of God

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My best friend gave her life to Christ, and I followed a few weeks later. She drew me to Him because of the changes I saw in her.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Provision of Promise Ministries, Newark, NJ – Head of Prayer Ministry, played keyboards on worship team, directed choir, taught classes in School of Ministry, taught classes in parochial school, head of graphic arts ministry, licensed teacher of the Word. Served 15 years

The Gathering Place, Hackettstown, NJ – Head of Hospitality Ministry, Head of Prayer Ministry, licensed District Pastor, founder and director of School of Ministry, taught classes, pulpit supply, served on Church Counsel. Served 14 years.

Greater Shiloh Church, Easton, PA – Homeless Shelter, Food Pantry, Elder, Teacher in 228 Ministry, founder and director of Kingdom Bible Institute. Served 7 years so far.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

All the churches that I have been involved in were Bible-believing churches that acted on their faith. Reaching people for Christ, serving them in their time of need, and loving them into the Kingdom has been the way I have been taught to live out my faith. This has shaped me more than anything else.

Having a husband who loves me unconditionally, who has dreams and vision for our family, and who perseveres through all types of trials, has made a lasting impression on my thinking and life. I can’t imagine life without him.

Being given the privilege of pouring into other people what God has poured into me. The opportunity to teach others the wonder of the Word of God has made me more careful in my own study, and more concerned about the seeds that I plant bearing fruit. I want the students to fall in love with the Word like I am in love with the Word, and I want it to build up their faith. Therefore, I must be attentive to how I share it with them, accurately, and with awe.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My son has been estranged from us since he was 18 years old. He lives in Arizona, and we rarely see him, his wife, and his 3 children. The children are all in college or out on their own now, and we have no real relationship with them. My son does call occasionally now, but conversations are strained. He accepted Christ as a youth, but has gone very far away. My heart goes out to parents of prodigal sons. The waiting for them to come to their senses is agonizing, and I pray and empathize with them.

My relationship with my mother was not a good one. Even though we spoke often, we tended to be accusatory and judgmental of each other. At the age of 81, the Lord allowed me to bring my mother to Christ. Everything changed after that. She embraced newness of life, and we grew much closer together. She died at the age of 91, and I still miss her. I know how difficult it is to have a bad relationship with your mother, but I also know that it can be changed in the twinkling of an eye. I can empathize and pray with folks in this predicament.

My husband was a cocaine addict. For years, we dealt with this invader in our home. God delivered him, and now he is a counselor to others who are addicted. Marriages can survive this issue. I can empathize with women whose husbands are addicts and pray with them for deliverance.
