I’ve been saved a long time and mostly my evangelism is not direct, or often. “Evangelize at all times, and sometimes use words”

i don’t consider myself a teacher because mostly what happens is, as an example, a scripture will come to mind, I will mention it in small group, it seems fitting and people are built up, but I don’t do much follow-up study. I think teachers need to do a lot of study and I am not committed to that as much as i think is needed.

If I have to work with others, it would be other musicians. after that, young, active people. i don’t know why, but easier to work with males (who doesn’t know that!) for instance, in the band.

(Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

[E]xperience

ok the testimony style perfectly describes my basic personality. young married, financially challenged wife and mother. started my own ‘art sewing’ business at age 23 (around 1977) with no mentoring, scared to death to promote myself, but my talents were
very strong or at least I believed they were, enough to help me to ‘step out’. But I was still highly stressed because I had little in the way of mentoring, and my natural tendancy is to ‘figure it out on my own’. I think it made me feel more confident if I did that. Because of the stress, I found listening to Christian radio all day long helped, although I had no idea why. Dr. J Vernon McGee was one of my favorites, he was driving his “Bible Bus”. This is particulary odd because I came from a family of academics who made fun of ‘people like that’. But I didn’t really fit their mold.
Every week I drove (always alone) to pick-up customer garments to embellish. One particular, gray winter morning in Maryland, around 9 am, I was driving was listening to Dr McGee who said, “if you want to get saved, just say this prayer with me”. This was about the 50th time I had heard him do this, and always resisted. This time I said, “OK! I’m miserable enough trying to do this on my own. It’s pretty obvious I’m just digging a deeper hole for myself.” So I pulled over into an empty mall parking lot near Annapolis. It was still too early for shoppers. So, notice, I was alone in the car, alone in the parking lot, but I still said the sinners prayer. That was my conversion experience and Jesus has stuck by me ever since. Oh, and by the way, He DOES know how to do things right, just like the Bible says. I’m so thankful He didn’t give up on me.

1979 – Had no idea I really needed to go to church. I was a recovering Catholic.
1980-1984 Rock Church – just figuring things out. Was in the music ministry, which also started my passionate pursuit of music. But Mostly I got ministered TO.
1985 – 2003 – Grace Fellowship Church, Timonium MD – Got certified to teach and then taught Marriage Conflict Resolution with Ed, to about 200 couples. Youth leader -5 years. Teenage girls.
2004-2008 Calvary Church, White Marsh, MD. and we were also sponsor parents for midshipmen for the US Naval Academy for 4 years.
2009 – 2013 aprox. Music ministry, 1st Baptist Church NSB, some teaching of Marriage Conflict resolition classes, led some small groups.
2014 – 2016 approx. Edgewater alliance church, Music Ministry, some teaching of Marriage Conflict resolition classes, led some small groups
2016 – present Salty – music ministry, a little Children ministry when they need help. Small group leader

at Rock Church the piano players grandmother got sick and they needed someone so I raised my hand, even though I hadn’t touched a piano since I was 12 years old. Somehow, I thought I could do it. People were very encouraging to me. I think they REALLY needed a pianist!!

Having 4 sons. I learned how to make a list and try to follow it. Enough said.

Diagnosed with ADD at the age of 62. I was having a lot of anxiety. It led to medication and I was able to accomplish a lot of dreams since then. mostly musical accomplishments.

Having 4 sons. No, sorry, just kidding. But it was extremely hard for me, maybe because of the ADD. Lists. Plus, I’ve had to work really hard at overcoming a negative view of myself. Like, “I’m smart, but why do I do this, that, blah blah blah”

We went bankrupt in 1990.

I’m a six foot tall woman. Back when I was growing up, it wasn’t cool and no one in my academic family said, “Hey! You’d make a great volleyball player” or somthing. they really didn’t know what to do about it. And I was overly sensitive already, and suffered bitter ridicule at the hands of my peers.
