[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. My kids, husband, parents, siblings – spending time with them and serving their needs

2. Learning new things and sharing that learning with others

3. Helping others – I love easing the burden of another person, making their life easier, soothing some pain they have, incrementally improving their existence

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

None specifically. I’ve worked with and enjoyed all ages of people.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I don’t know. I’d love to be more involved, but haven’t found a spot where I can really help other people. I was a barista at my old church and did enjoy getting to know everyone in the congregation as they got their weekly drinks.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in the church, answered an alter call at age 3 and was baptized at 8. However, in my late teens and early 20s, I, Iike many others, began to question my faith. I began to wonder why I believed in Christ and what the TRUTH was. I was worried that I didn’t have all the answers. I sought answers from everywhere and got none. I slowly, over a number of years, realized that I DON’T have all the answers and never will. I realized that faith is just that – believing even when there is not scientific evidence. Without all the answers, the only thing I can lean on is that still small voice inside of me – calling me, telling me truth, and leading me toward a closer relationship with Jesus.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I was a church secretary at age 19 for approximately 1 year. First Baptist Church, Emporia, Kansas

I worked as a barista at Life Church in Olathe for approximately 1 year.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Having my children – my oldest changed my whole outlook on life.

Working in the PICU – while this would not necessarily be a positive experience for everyone, it was monumentally important to who I am today.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My brother’s suicide

My own divorce

Mental illness and crisis
