Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
I grew up in the Catholic church knowing who Jesus was but followed a lot of church created rules and regulations and never studied the Word. I fell away in my teen years and during my first marriage we attended several churches never regularly. After 25 years of marriage, I faced infidelity resulting in divorce. I was angry at God because I felt I had been a good wife, mother, and person – doing all the right things. I was pursued by a priest from the Episcopal church I had attended for a short time during my first marriage. He lovingly pursued me and showed me Christ’s unconditional love. I then attended a prayer/healing service and Jesus spoke through the speaker that night and opened my heart to His truths. I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior and my entire life changed.
St Mark’s Episcopal Church, Silvis IL – Worship Team/Drama Team Leader both approximately 5 years.
New Life Fellowship, Moline, IL – Worship Team/Drama Team Leader both approximately 7 years.
We mentored a young couple in their marriage for 3 years at the request of a Pastor/Missionary friend.
Witnessing answer to prayer in several situations within our marriage.
Being healed from Fibromyalgia, abulging disc in my neck, and a cyst on my finger. The last two were requiring surgery and was avoided by God’s healing.
Seeing how God kept pursuing me until I finally gave my life to Him. Also by submitting to God’s will on several occasions and watching Him answer prayer especially bringing my husband into my life.
Sexual abuse by a close relative as a child and being able to forgive that person in my adult years through Jesus Christ. This has given me compassion for anyone abused.
Divorce and all the emotions that go with it has given me compassion for those going through trials in marriage and encouraging them to work through those trials and sharing scripture on marriage/divorce.
Even though I have never lost a child, I almost lost my son three times (at birth, when he was attacked by a dog at age 9, and cancer at age 17). I have experienced the worry, hurt, hopelessness, anger, etc. I have also sat with my parents as they went through the process of dying and all the emotions related to losing a parent. I have compassion for anyone who has been through a devastating accident/illness/death of a loved ones.
