[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I accepted Christ at the age of 6 years old. Growing up I always tried to do my best, be good, and perfect like I perceived was expected. When I was around age 13, with lots of familial change, responsibility as the oldest, and a perceived pressure to be perfect, I entered a period of major depression and anxiety eventually leading to suicidal thoughts around 16 and 17. I ventured into college classes early searching for friends and wanting to leave high school. There I found a student ministry that poured into me. Although I started going to Bible studies and reading the Word, I was building my foundation on theology. A year later this would come crashing down with the help of unhealthy non-Christian friendships. The Lord used this time of lowness to draw me back to Himself and into a new church and student ministry. Now He has grown me more than I thought possible and I hope to keep building up young women to understand His love and provision.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being placed in a Dgroup and accepted into Campus Outreach

Going to Fletcher’s college Sunday school and being poured into by Chris Fowler and other students

The discipleship and friendship of Tara Smith

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

The depression, anxiety, and panic attacks I endured for years

The physical affliction I went through the spring semester of 2018

The adoption of my brother and his surgeries
