Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
When I was 14, at a youth conference, I was sitting with my youth group. These were mostly people I had known most of my life and I was doing all I could to feel accepted and that I belonged.
When the speaker gave the invitation, he asked everyone who wanted to accept Jesus to stand up. I looked around at the group I was with, none of them were standing up. And, I heard Jesus speak to me. He said, “Don’t worry about them. You belong to me.” So, I stood up and gave my life to Jesus.
Being given the opportunity to lead worship for my youth group as a teenager, and invested in by my two youth pastors, the latter took time with me in a small group weekly throughout my freshman year of college while I was attending the local community college.
Being trusted as the camp speaker with my youth ministry collective in Virginia. I regularly planned and helped shape the teaching/group element of our Summer and Winter camp experiences.
Being welcomed to Cornerstone for my preaching and teaching gift. I had not received much affirmation from the leadership at my previous church.
My parents’ divorce in 2017. Families need help to be committed to each other and need to see their relationships through a gospel-centered lens.
My whole life, I have felt like I don’t quite fit in. In school, this allowed me to bounce between social groups. I only started to feel comfortable in my skin when I felt close to God. This would lead to wanting to help my friends know Jesus through Younglife or my youth group.
It’s led me to want to try to help others feel accepted by Jesus, and that they have a place they can belong and be known by others accepted by Jesus.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. I’d like to write a book and do some public speaking
4. I’d travel to see some of the ancient cities in the Scriptures to understand them and teach better.
5. I’d invest in parents/dads to be better fathers who love Jesus and show their kids how to love Jesus.
