My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

At 11 years old during afternoon tea, the pastor asked if anyone wanted to accept the Lord. I made a decision then to accept Christ. Although I was not always active in church ministry, I was always cognizant of His power and influence in my life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Crofton Park Baptist Church (UK)-Visiting the sick, mentor house group.

Trinity Baptist Church (MD)-Wednesday Evening Hospitality committee.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

1. Birth of my children-I learned among other things, patience, understanding, and tolerance for different peoples and cultures.

2. Migrating to England-leaving the comforts of home in Jamaica and travelling to a foreign country with no friends and family, taught me how to rely completely on the Lord.

3. Practicing Nursing in the UK and the US.-Regardless of where one practices nursing, it is a life-changing experience that is extremely stressful and emotionally heart wrenching.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

1. As I was working to get a little more money before going home to Jamaica, and the fact that the doctors stated that my mother was not critically ill, I delayed in going home. Unfortunately, she died in the middle of the night and I was not able to see her alive. This experience taught me that procrastination is truly the thief of timed.

2. Leaving England without my children was extremely painful. As I was leaving and I looked into the sad tear-stained faces of my three children, my heart broke because neither the children, myself, nor my church family wanted us to leave our home in the UK. This was what my husband wanted and we capitulated.

3. Divorce-dealing with the loss, the emptiness, and the betrayal was almost unbearable.
