S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Karen Davidson for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Since I was young, I have always felt a I needed to asked God to show me and direct my path so that I can be of some small help to him in whatever way that meant.

#2 Gift, Giving (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
For me this is more of an extension of the 1st question. Serving means giving to me. So we give monetarily what we can but in a larger capacity it was always important to give with our lives. We felt led to manage, maintain and market two church camps we grew up attending. It was a sacrificial kind of giving, as we lived there 24/7. The first camp living in a pop-up camper for 7 months, then a small lodge room for another 5 months until they provided a house that wasn’t full of mold. The second camp we lived in a 1000 sq ft house with 2 kids. So for us giving was measured in sacrificial giving to help provide a place where people could come and feel God’s presence, to Be Still, and feel peace in a natural beautiful location away from their daily lives of work during spiritual retreats and camps.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
To be honest? I’m shocked by this one!!!! I’m not sure how to even answer. I don’t feel I’m evanualistic. I mean if I share my story or experience with God’s presence in my life and it helps someone that’s great. But in general I’m a pretty private person when it comes to that. My role has always been helping to provide a “place” where people can meet and experience God in their lives.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Art, design, marketing. I loose myself in it which to me is a sign of passion.

2. I should say, I assume these questions are beyond of the obvious – my family and kids! 🙂
So, I’m more of a background person. Whatever I can do to help, ask and I’ll ususlly try to help. That brings joy to me – lightening someone’s load.

3. I found myself really enjoying helping and talking to Amanda when she called me after my first text to her. Even though my initial response was reassigning her because it caught me off guard. Afterward I did enjoy being there for her. I’m not sure what that means it just came to my mind.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Work with – doesn’t matter to me what age.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I would love to volunteer more in the capacity of outreach. Shelters, feeding the homeless whatever – I’m not sure exactly yet.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
