S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Menelik Lewis for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Everyone needs a little bit of encouragement regardless of their situation. For those who may find themselves in tough circumstances, being encouraging is one of the most effective ways I can be a blessing in their life. It’s something that comes naturally to me and that I enjoy.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Showing Mercy and being a forgiving person is the least I can be since the Lord has forgiven us for all of our transgressions when he died on the cross. I also view this as being patient with people and with myself. I believe patience is important, because in due time, if one keeps walking in faith, you will begin to realize what the Lord has planned for your life. Being patient also allows you to be more in tune with what your calling is and more willing to submit to the will of the Lord because you are more open to his word.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I like giving back where I can and volunteering my time to helping communities become stronger and more vibrant. This can range from helping pick up litter from the streets to supporting local businesses. I believe my calling is to serve.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I don’t necessarily have a testimony – coming to know the Lord has been a slow but steady march in my life.
I don’t have much ministry experience
Running track and field and being a part of a team enabled me to work well with others and learn how to incorporate feedback and be coached. This has served me well in many other areas of my life.
Attending Bible Center – albeit sporadically over the years – has inspired me greatly. Seeing what can be accomplished by a relatively small yet extremely dedicated congregation has been very inspiring.
This is not a singular experience, but I believe my parents have been a huge blessing in my life. They have taught and shown me patience and love consistently my entire life and I wouldn’t be half the person I am if it wasn’t for their love and guidance.
A very close friend of mine has dealt with severe depression for as long as I have known them. Last year, a close friend of theirs committed suicide, and seeing them try and cope with such a loss was very eye opening. It made me realize how interconnected we are as beings – and that one act not only affects one person, but a whole community.
My Dad had to reinvent himself pretty late in his career due to an unforeseen illness that resulted in his termination. Despite that setback, he was able to not only reinvent himself, but he’s now in a profession where he is able to have a positive impact on many kids and families as a teacher in the Bronx. Although a negative event at first, it has turned out to be very positive.
I suffered from a fractured hip socket my freshman year at Pitt which forced me to quit the track team. For a very long period of my life, my identity was tied to being an athlete. Now that I no longer was one, I had to redefine who I was. I began participating in more clubs on campus and discovered my passion in business.
