Mistakes are normal, that’s how we learn. It’s important to have people to love you and support you even when you stray from the path. Not with punishment or abandonment but with kind, strong guidance.

[H]eart

1. Spending time in nature. Can be the ocean, the woods, the mountains, a garden or a farm. Just love observing God’s creations.

2. Spirituality- reading about it or learning from listening to videos, talks and sermons. Love sharing spiritual experiences and getting goosebumps when the unexplainable enlightening moments happen.

3. Photography and graphic design. My approach to photography is explorative. I usually don’t have preconceived ideas but am always thankful for what I find. Each image, whether a person or landscape, has a unique story that I’m interested in.

Sometimes I like working with responsible, efficient people but it’s also fun to work with the crazy, loving messes that I end up cleaning up after.

Really don’t know. To travel on a missionary trip has always been a dream but I’m probably not knowledgeable enough to share the word of God. But, I could definitely work hard building, cleaning and feeding.

[E]xperience

I have always been spiritual but disliked all of the churches I had tried. Felt like the people were hypocritical and judgmental. Salty is the first place I felt I could be myself and still be welcomed.

Got a job in Montana and took a month driving there and checking places out along the way. After growing up in a small beach town, St Augustine, this opened my eyes to big sky country. Changed my perspective on the world around me and my place in it.

Went to college for photography and learned how to express myself through art. After graduating, took another long road trip, this time by myself visiting friends along the way. Didn’t have a credit card or cell phone! Ended up running out of money in Colorado, which was a new exciting chapter in my life.

At 36, I had my son, Gabriel. Didn’t think I could get pregnant and he was/is my angel.

My mother divorced 3 times during my childhood. Gary, my 3rd father, is who I consider my real dad because he is still in my life and was there the longest. We fought like crazy when I was growing up, he was growing up too, but I learned a lot from him. He says that he learns from me. We have a great relationship now.

I tried to get in touch with my real father when I was in my 20’s but his wife wouldn’t allow it, thought I was out to get money from him. He didn’t stand up to her and died of throat cancer a couple years ago. We will never have the chance to know each other now. It used to make me sad and mad, but I’ve forgiven them now. They did what they had to do for what was happening in their life at the time. I’ve let it go. I know she misses him now and I’ve become friends with her and their sons, my stepbrothers.

At 30, I had a brain tumor. I had brain surgery but 6 yrs later after I gave birth to Gabe, it came back aggressively. Stage 4. Brain surgery again, followed by radiation and a year of chemo. Recovery was hard work and took a toll on my relationship w/ Gabe’s dad. I lost him, but gained an inner strength that I didn’t know I had. I began talking to angels and listening to God’s wisdom from within me. After losing memories, speech and all of my hair, I found my inner beauty and my inner voice. I still have to tell myself to be nice when I’m expecting too much or putting myself down, but I’ve gotten to the point where I realize this voice is God and all I feel is love and appreciation.
