S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Meredith for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
I was born into the church and raised in a Christian. I prayed to accept Jesus into my heart at 5 years old, but I don’t really remember that. I rededicated my life as a teenager and spent years in a strong youth group. I became distanced from God when I left for college and spent many years living like I wanted, not in God’s will. After marriage and a child, I found a church near me that taught from the Word and encouraged me to serve.
Meeting my husband. I have always been meek and struggled with anxiety. He taught me to stand up for myself and not be so fearful of things I can’t control.
Working in retail. I sort of fell into the career, and it taught me how to fail. That failing is okay and is the best way to learn.
Being terrible with money. I was raised wanting for nothing and never really learned how to live within my means. There have been moments where I felt I was one bad decision away from losing everything. It has taught me that just because someone is homeless or destitute does not mean they deliberately wasted their lives. It could happen to anyone!
When I was in college, my mom became addicted to pain medication while recovering from surgery. She was admitted to rehab and has been involved in a great NA group since. It has given me compassion and empathy for people struggling with addiction.
Working retail gave me an incredible glimpse into women as a whole and I realized that ALL women are too critical of themselves. That people I might think are perfect all have something they hate about themselves. It has taught me to be kind to everyone. If they are angry or cruel to me or others, they are doubly so to themselves.
