[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in poverty with very low self- esteem. When I was 15 years old, I started to think and question what more it is to life;, Is my religious ( Roman Catholic ) practices, enough to offer me something greater in this life?. No one knew about my questions, I kept it to myself and stop going to church.

One day I heard that my older brother invited Baptist Missionaries to hold a Bible study in our house. I was hiding behind a wall and as they read the Bible the ” Word of God was answering my questions!! I was filled with amazement and created more curiosity each time they Study the Bible at our home.

At around Easter, they held a Public Evangelistic meeting where I went and heard “The Gospel of Jesus Christ” and found out where I stand before God. Prompted by His Words, I repented of all my sins and felt an overwhelming love, joy and peace in my heart that I can’t explain! His gift of forgiveness, Love and Salvation. I publicly accepted and declared Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and He became my New Identity.

Shortly there after, I became very hungry for the Word of God and became passionate in sharing my new life in Christ to my friends , classmates, relatives, students, co-workers and strangers at every opportunity God is giving me as I continue to grow in my love and obedience to God and in my knowledge of His Word.

My personal and love mandate from my relationship with God is to faithfully and enduringly grow in faith and obey the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. This is God’s Purpose in my life that brings glory to Himself. I desire and aspire by the grace of God, to walk in the likeness and fullness of Christ in me till I see Him face to face.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

My first Missionary experience as led by my Lord was when I was a Teacher back home in the Philippines. I invited and gathered my High school students under a Mango tree, read and taught them the Bible. Two accepted the Lord and one got Baptized. Was a part of the Worship and Visitation Team. My church was under Conservative Baptist Association of the Philippines. ( 5 years )

First Filipino Baptist Church under General Baptist Convention in Winnipeg Manitoba – Church Secretary, Deacon, Bible study/ Course on Discipleship Making teacher/leader ( Youth/adult)- ( 5 years)
