S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Micaela Wilson for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I notice that I love to encourage people. I see/hear something going on or a struggle they’re having and I like to speak life into it. I want to be the person others come to not for the answers but for encouragement.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m also aware that in many instances where someone is in the wrong or has done something evil or even if society has simply decided that they don’t belong, I see them differently. I see them for their hearts and their brokenness. I see them (or at least try to) the way Jesus would, not by their circumstances or actions or background, etc.

#3 Gift, Serving (50%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I do love helping and serving others. To be honest, I go through seasons where I would rather not and just shut myself in. But I do believe I was created to do missions and to help others in whatever way I can. Right now that means serving at church and being the voice of encouragement for those around me.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love photographing the world, preferably people and their stories as it happens (not modeled or posed).

2. I write. Whether others’ stories or my own feelings/experiences.

3. I really value time alone. Whether going hiking, to a bookstore, or drinking coffee at a coffee shop. I just like time to think and decompress.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Honestly the best way I could put it is the underdogs. Those who are looked over or looked down on for whatever reason. Age makes no difference to me.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I want a real relationship with God. Not everything we were taught in Sunday school but the radical life Christ preached in the New Testament.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I’m one of those “lifer” Christians. I grew up in a Christian home but finally decided to make it my own when I got baptized in 2011. Of course it hasn’t been a smooth road but I always end up coming back to God.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Journey: VIP team. 2015-2016

Journey: Media team (photographer) 2016-current

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Getting married in 2016.

Decision to start seeing a counselor in 2017.

Decision to time time off from college in 2015.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My brother passing unexpectedly in 2015.

My abusive stepfather, untrustworthy father.

Lots of rocky things specifically the summer/fall of 2017.

Wrapping It Up

  • Everyone Else After those

3. Grow my photography business so I don’t need a second job

4. Become a missionary over seas to plant churches/businesses/tell others’ stories
