[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Studying God’s Word for hours – I can sit and read, journal and create lessons and get lost in it!

2. When I teach Gods Word- I come alive. The anointing can come when I feel I have nothing- and the words come forth and the lesson flows.

3. Encouraging others to belief – when they feel lost- hurt- rejected- ashamed—- seeing hope ignite and testimonies later of how our time together ministered to them- touches a part of my heart that nothing else can.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was taken to church by a neighbor at a young age- a family friend. Little did I know she was my guardian angel- I accepted Christ but without direction and living in a violent home- I sought refuge in drugs and the world. Years later perfectly positioned people ministered to me until I got clean and eventually found my way back to church. God has been healing me ever since.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Houston First Baptist Church – women’s ministry team, Sunday school in reach/ prayer partner and marriage retreat leader.

Grace School- Bible educator to middle schoolers for ten years! Created curriculum used and other venues like young girls bible studies- chapel club and Holy Ground Assembly.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Making the decision to seek help for drug addiction. The moment of truth I had is still crystal clear to me today, 30 years later. It was a defining moment and the hinge on the door opening to a new life. It took courage to face the ugliest part of myself to find the change I had to have.

Fully supporting myself and going to college. It took 7 years, but I did it on my own without help from family and graduated with honors – it taught me the value of perseverance and staying the course. Literally! Ha!

Having my son, at 41- even with many naysayers. He is the joy of my life and the fulfillment of a promise God whispered to my heart.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Drug addiction- lived in the pit and I understand the depth of pain and shame

I had 2 abortions- and went through post abortive Christian healing. Standing in forgiveness, I know the self imposed prison it can create, the lie the world sells us on what is “just a fetus” and how God can forgive what felt unforgivable.

Childhood trauma- I know the life long effects and grip it has on your identity and how it can rob you of the life and purpose your meant to have. I also understand how to find freedom and begin to heal.
