[H]eart

1. Lacrosse is the major thing that brings joy to my life. It is very rare to see me doing something that does not involve the sport and I truly believe that lacrosse is my calling and way to spread the word to others.

2. Music is another thing that brings joy and fulfillment to my life. I am able to use music to focus or to relax and organize my thoughts. I think music is a great influence on today’s youth and if you listen closely to the lyrics then you can use them to find the stories of others.

3. Another thing that brings me joy is being with my friends. Just being able to hang out and not think about the bad things in life helps. They also do the same things that I do and it is good to be with others that share my interests.

I enjoy working with my friends and people of the same age group as myself. Between 2-3 years younger and up to 5 years older because they are easy to relate to and share similar views.

Coming to FUMA and being around people who had accepted Christ. We has a service on Jeremiah 29:11 and it really related to me because I would question why things happened and I started my spiritual journey to follow Christ.

Coming to Fork Union and being around so many people that share the same views as myself.

Getting demoted in Middle School and deciding to become a leader versus someone with rank and position. To help others and show them how things should be versus just telling them to do it.

Meeting this girl Shay who has accepted Christ and has put him first in her life. She wants to major in religion and do mission trips. I believe by meeting her, she has influenced my spiritual journey and made me want to replicate her passion.

My parents getting divorced. It was rough at the time but I think is the best thing that happened to me because I am who I am today because of it.

The passing of Duane Fender. He had personal relationships with almost every cadet and knew everyone’s names. He was such a kind loving father and losing him felt that I had lost my own father. He was the first person I met on campus and instantly had a relationship that would last.

Losing our house had a huge impact on me. It made me realize that marriage issues in families breaks the relationships and hurts the children involved. It made me want to help all of those living in those situations.
