[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Now, reading the Bible. I actually understand things now more than I ever have.

2. Spending time with my daughter and two grandchildren.

3. Writing; blogging, short stories, articles and two books in progress.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I’ve never really thought about age. If I can help someone, their age doesn’t matter to me.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I’m not sure how to answer this. I do want to start going to a Bible study group to be able to ask questions when I have them and learn more.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in the Pentecostal faith. My mother and grandparents were devout followers. I’ve always believed in God but I have had many issues where I felt I could not measure up to be a Christian, so I stopped trying. Maybe it’s my age, maybe the 3 close calls in September of 2017 but I’ve come back to God with a whole new understanding of being a Christian.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Pentecostal churches in Ohio growing up and Assemblies of God Church many years ago with my mother. I haven’t gone to church in many years until starting with Grace Church in early 2018.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Realizing that God never gave up on me even when I gave up on myself.

Mom taking me to church and I’ve always known God and held Christian values all of my life but was never willing or able to turn everything over to God.

I used to have nosebleeds a lot when I was young. I remember mom reading a Bible scripture (3 times) in order to get the bleeding to stop. Ezekiel 16:6 (KJV) 6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live. In looking online, I find this was not just my mother’s remedy. Many people have used it.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I was born with a cleft palate and cleft lip which made me very backward and with little confidence. I knew what it was like to be made fun of and laughed at. I’ve never done that to anyone in my life.

Not really a negative experience but a scary one for a child; hearing people speaking in tongues. Mom explained it after the fact but that scary time has always stayed with me.

Becoming a bride and a widow in the same week, I was angry with God but as time goes on, I’ve come to realize my husband and I were brought together “for” each other. I cherish time with family and friends more now than I ever have.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Write and be an “after picture” for people to see when they value and love themselves.

4. I think sometimes I would like to travel but not by myself and take many beautiful pictures of the glorious world God has made.

5. That my family and friends are proud of me and what I’ve accomplished in life.
