I speak truth with love, at least that is my goal when I’m speaking of Christ and my walk with Him. I may not know all the biblical references by heart, but I do know how Christ has changed me thus far & I’m willing and in fact, happy to share my experience.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

3. Doing hair for a living gives me so much joy when I’m able to make someone else feel better about themselves.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

kids mostly, they are full of energy & their inquisition of life is naturally comical, endearing, & loving

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a family that was generationally fairly legalistic. From early on I was taught to live by rules & rewards for good behavior follow. If I didn’t have good behavior then my soul was basically at risk or damned. I had a lot of questions as I grew up but not a lot of them could be answered. So I then went from believing in a God who punished to not believing at all. When I was 19, I was baptized. It was not a joyful experience by any means. I was interrogated for hours being told that I could very well die the next day and if that were the case I’d then go to hell. Since I was confused & crying, I just agreed to get baptized in order to get everyone to shut up. Then, I continued to live my life for the next handful of years questioning God and trying to look for answers. It wasn’t until July of 2010 that everything came crashing down like a ton of bricks in order for me to see that God is in fact, REAL. That Jesus was in FACT ALIVE. I was in Israel for almost a month. A day where I was just walking around, I ended up in the Holy Church of Sepulchre. I stumbled upon the stone where Jesus was prepped for burial without having any idea where I was or what I was looking at & then it just hit me. I felt a massive weight in my chest and my heart & had to take a moment to let it all soak in. I prayed immediately for peace in my heart & happiness & for God to speak to me. He answered those prayers almost immediately. In order for my life to get better, it had to get worse first. I still had more suffering to endure before my eyes & heart could open more. But there was NO DOUBT that Jesus was there with me & has been with me ever since. That day made me a believer. I never doubted Him from then on. I also realized that Faith is something that I can not see physically but there’s no denying that He is in my heart. I trust God, my Lord with my heart & soul.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My family being believers (although between us, we have a different approach)

My brother and I aren’t even a year apart & he and I have always been very close. He’s my 1st best friend & all throughout life, we’ve always had each other throughout everything.

Art & music have always been a positive outlet for me.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My parent’s divorce – My Mom abusing my brother & I, having to testify against her in court. Going to court for my parent’s divorce on my 16th birthday.

Becoming addicted, overdosing several times. The first time at age 13, my first suicide attempt & being in the ICU while my Dad told me that I was a loser. Spending the night there by myself.

Being sexually assaulted & not having the cops back me up to help me. I couldn’t even press charges. Becoming a little bit agoraphobic because I was scared to go outside and be assaulted again.
