I have a way of understanding and explaining God’s word and biblical history in a practical, logical and convincing way that is often hard to dispute. I study God’s word often and am always seeking to know more and understand things at a deeper level.

I’m surprised this came up in the survey, honestly. Maybe because I am cool with being around unbelievers and won’t waiver in my faith because I’m hearing something different. I’m best at encouraging those that have fallen from the faith or are having a difficult time than encouraging unbelievers though.

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

[E]xperience

I grew up in church and gave my life to Christ pretty early. I started exploring other options in college but developed a strong personal relationship with Christ at 19. It’s been an interesting journey since then.

From the Heart Church Ministries, Suitland, MD – Youth Worker – 2006 – 2009

Divine Discipleship Sisterhood at First Baptist Church of Glenarden – this class helped me to figure out who I am in Christ and what my gifts are. I also established some close connections with other women that go beyond surface level friendships and keep me accountable.

My current job with DCPS – this has been one of my most intellectually challenging experiences and I really enjoy the challenge. It’s pushed me to read more, become more knowledgeable and question everything. In the process I’ve become more aware of inequities that exist in our society and passionate about leveling the playing field for some of the most disadvantaged groups in America.

Getting married – They don’t call marriage an institution for nothing. Getting married is probably the one act that I tie the most to adulthood. I’m not a fan of commitment, especially long term commitment. Marriage has required me to become more disciplined and in affect become a better person.

I definitely don’t want to go into detail but I’ve experienced a lot that has made me a pretty strong feminist. I have a lot of empathy for women who have been in abusive relationships with men and/or have suffered mentally, spiritually, physically and financially.

Growing up in a church where’s God’s love for mankind was not a primary focus and spiritual growth was only connected to following the rules has given me compassion for those who often struggle with not being “good enough” for God’s love or who struggle to understand God’s love.

Dealing with sometimes debilitating social anxiety has given me compassion for those who struggle with anxiety and/or depression tied to insecurities.
