S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Brittany McNeil for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love to encourage others, especially when they are having a rough day. It feels amazing to see their face light up and hear their reaction. God will often give me an encouraging word and I love when I am obedient and share it in the moment it’s given even if I don’t know what that individual is going through. Everyone needs to be encouraged because many don’t share what they are actually going through in life.

#2 Gift, Serving (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love to serve & help others. I am always quick to volunteer even if I may not want to actually do it. It is almost second nature to offer to help others when they ask. I am willing to learn a task I don’t know to be able to help someone else.

#3 Gift, Mercy Showing (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Mercy is so needed. Mercy to me, says you are human and life happens and you just need someone to walk alongside you. I believe because I am very sensitive, it is easier to feel for those who are down or struggling. I am a feeler! I believe everyone should receive mercy because God shows us so much mercy. As a believer, it is an example of how much God loves us. God doesn’t love our sin, but He loves the person he created. No one is too far gone to receive mercy and everyone can repent and find Jesus again!

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love talking with youth about life and being there for them when they need guidance or just a life life of support.

2. I love spending time with my family. It brings me a lot of joy to see my kiddo laugh and discover new things. I love spending time with my husband, bonding with him, laughing with him and traveling with him. Family brings me a lot of joy!

3. I love when I get the opportunity to teach and be creative. I love being creative in teaching because I find that when learning is fun, it’s easier to retain the information being shared. I am naturally a creative person and teaching allows me to use my creativity in many different ways.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with women & youth (teenage girls) the most. This age group and type is who I easily connect with.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I believe all churches should have a great program for teenage pregnancy or moms that are pregnancy but don’t have any support. Most churches say they love all people until their sins become present for all to see and then the church shuts them out. I want to see churches have real life, community based programs for real life struggles that allow people to not walk a lone as they get better. I love Youth Ministry, Marriage Ministry and a solid kids program because I have a toddler.

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was 8 when I first accepted Jesus Christ into my life, and have grown uo in church since I can remember. So I became a Christian at a really young ago and have always believed In Jesus Christ, but I really believe I started living out my relationship with Jesus Christ when I was 22. I was in a toxic relationship and I knew in that relationship that I wanted to live for Jesus and not the path I was going on. Life began to change for me once I knew there was a true difference in how I will choose to live my life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have serve as a Pastor’s Wife at Connection Church in Medina, OH since Sept 1st, 2017 until current.
I serve as a Teaching Pastor at Connection Church in Medina, OH since Sept 1st, 2017.
I served as a Small Group Leader of the Women’s Ministry at Connection Church in Medina, OH from February-June 2018.

I served as a Youth Leader at Grace Christian Center in Killeen, TX for 2 years (2015-2017)

In past years I have served in the Choir as well as a Praise & Worship Leader.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Leaving a toxic relationship of seven years. It was a true turning point in my life. A book that helped me after that relationship was Joyce Meyer’s Battlefield of the Mind. I was determined to not stay in the “wilderness” longer than I had to.

Traveling to Ghana, Africa for a dance & musical festival when I was a senior in high school in 2006. It was amazing to see how people who could have so little could have so much joy. The little things like rain and pencils made them so excited for life. I love their passion for Jesus. They walk for miles and are excited to experiencing Jesus Christ, despite their struggles. It was amazing to experience.

Serving as a Youth Leader at Grace Christian Center in Killeen, TX. Those kids had so much hardship, but they also had a love for life. It was amazing to love on them , speaking life into them, gain their trust and really be there for them. Not only did it impact the student, but I was able to build a trusting relationship with some of their parents. I believe it truly does take a village. I love that church and the youth ministry there!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I was molested as a little girl by my step father at the time. That horrible experience has helped me to connect with so many young girls who have been molested, sexually abused, raped, etc. To be able to open up about my own experience, how it has affected my life and what God was able to do with my pain has opened a door for healing for those young girls. To know you aren’t alone in your pain and that the road to healing is a long one, is freeing all by itself. I’m thankful I can understand the fallout that comes from such a tragic experience because it allows me to see beyond their actions and speak to their heart.

Being in a toxic relationship for 7 years definitely has taken a toll on how I view relationships and is something I work hard at overcoming every day. Many people cannot understand how a woman can stay in an abusive relationship but I truly can. Because of this experience I’ve been able to have so many real & hard conversations with women who are in the midst of something toxic or who have been. I don’t like that I was “that woman”, but I am thankful that I can speak to that woman without judgement because she simply needs someone to love on her in the midst of her struggle and not condemn her because she is or was struggling.

When my husband & I first took over Connection Church in Medina, OH I really struggled to honor him as my husband and my pastor. I was not the best representation of what a Pastor’s Wife should be to the congregation. Once you’re in that spotlight there really is nowhere to hide all your many flaws and negative exposure is never fun. This experience has allowed me to connect with other struggling Pastor’s Wive’s and be a voice of encouragement, because doing both, honoring your husband as both your Pastor & Husband is possible. To be able to be completely vulnerable and honest with these women, while still respecting my husband with what I share and how I share it has been a source of healing for my own heart. I am thankful I had this experience because I know I needed it to grow and many Pastor Wives struggle in this same area. We aren’t perfect even when placed on a Pedal Stool and it’s great to be able to keep it real about the struggles of becoming a Pastor’s Wife.
