S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Beth West for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It has been prophesied over me that I would be surrounded by youth (many ages) – not in admiration, but in discipleship

#2 Gift, Teaching (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Another prophesy over my life was that I have the teaching spirit – I enjoy explaining things, teaching things, and guiding disciples through the text

#3 Gift, Evangelism (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This isn’t surprising, as I have a missionary calling on my life. I so badly desire that everyone have the opportunity to hear the word of God.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love praying, reading the word, and just spending time in God’s presence

2. I love spending time with my family – away from the hustle and bustle of “real world”

3. Doing things for the Kingdom – whether it is cleaning the church, weeding the flower beds, arranging mission trips or counseling with a youth in need, I enjoy doing it.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Youth (middle and high school age)

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The greatest concern I have is that high school students historically fall out of church after 18 y/o. If they do not have that foundation and involvement before they “leave the nest,” the younger adult years are so much harder to gain them back into the church – other things take precedence and God becomes second.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in church practically my whole life. My parents fell out of it for a while, and I knew early on (5th/6th grade) that something was missing. We started going back to church, but I was still living like hell. I would cuss, I would flirt, I was rather promiscuous – teasing and leading the guys on – resulting in me making some really bad decisions with several of them. All during this transition in my life, my home life changed, my parents became more serious about their callings, and I found mine at 15 y/o. On the one-year anniversary of nearly losing my mother due to an illness that God brought her out of, I accepted Christ. Reggie Dabbs and Jentezen Franklin were preaching about calling out the nations for God, and I knew then that my heart would be forever sold-out to God, sold-out to making sure that my calling wouldn’t slip through my hands. I made some bad choices along the way (not prayerfully made choices), but God has seen me through and is bringing me back to where I was called to be.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Green Meadow COG: preschool (2009-2010)

Green Meadow COG: nursery (2011 – current)

Green Meadow COG (now the Meadow): RS Student Ministries (now Invictus Student Ministries) 2014-current

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Winterfest March 2003 – The Night fully accepted Christ

Being told by a friend of mine that because I was kind, never judged him, and took the time to show the love of God to him, he turned his life over to God and gave up drugs and suicidal thoughts

Stepping out of the church that my own father was the youth pastor for – seeking more. I found GMCOG, and I’ve never looked back.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Freshman Year of High School – that was my lowest year of self-worth. I felt like I could only find worth in the boys that wanted me or by how I dressed. So many girls feel like that now and I wish they knew what I knew now.

Abuse that I have forgiven

Several deaths in my family and friends

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would be a stay at home mom

4. I would spend my days while the kids are at school working at the church/for the church

5. I would take my family on mission work regularly
